Hanefi Demirkol, head of the Turkish delegation, told reporters his group showed the Syrians evidence including empty shell cases that showed the Turkish planes had been shot down by Syrian craft, Anatolia reported. Demirkol said the evidence also included a tape of the Syrian pilots' communication with their tower that showed the pilots disregarded Turkish orders not to enter Turkish airspace.

The pilots are heard on the tape telling their tower they "hit the target," Demirkol was quoted as saying. fy ft -I lMiiii TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (AP) A Boeing 727 shook violently and seemed to plunge just before it crashed in flames into a hillside, killing 131 people, a badly burned survivor said yesterday. "They told us to put on our seatbelts for landing, and then suddenly the plane began to shake, like air turbulence," said Evenor Lopez, a Honduran businessman. "But it went on for a long time, and we seemed to be descending too rapidly. Some people were screaming," Lopez said in an interview.

Investigators from the National Air Transportation Safety Board arrived yesterday from the United States aboard a Coast Guard plane and went directly to the site of Saturday's crash. The plane was operated by the Honduran airline TAN-SAHSA. Authorities said 131 of the 146 people aboard were killed. U.S. Embassy spokesman Terry Knee-bone said there were 15 Americans aboard.

Airline officials said three of the 15 survivors were American. Mark Jacobs, another embassy spokesman, released an incomplete list of the dead Americans, identified as Eduardo Apodaca, Maria Ester Apodaca, Charles Friederich, Connie Montealegre, Charles Kendall Morrow, Michael O'Shea, Daniel Yurista and Robert Hebb. He. said he did not have their ages or hometowns. He said he could not identify other U.S.

Hundreds of people gathered at CILVEGOZU, Turkey (AP) Syrian officials said yesterday they will punish the pilots of two Jet fighters accused of shooting down a Turkish civilian airplane, killing all five crew members, a news report said.

Turkish and Syrian officials met in Turkey to investigate the case, Turkey's semi-official Anatolia news agency reported. Turkish officials say two Syrian Mig-21 Jet fighters flew 12 miles over Turkish territory Saturday to shoot down the civilian airplane with missiles. They say all five crew members aboard were killed. A Syrian official, Seyit Hasun, told reporters after the 44-hour meeting in the border town of Cilvegozu that the pilots would be punished severely, Anatolia said. No further details were given.

The dispatch quoted Hasun as saying the Syrians wanted to conduct an on-site investigation. It did not say whether the request was granted. The Syrian Foreign Ministry said Turkish Ambassador Erhan Turcel met late Saturday with ministry officials and was told Syria had set up a committee to investigate. The ministry asked Turcel to "convey the condolences of the Syrian government to the Turkish government and the families of the victims in this painful incident." It gave no details on how the plane was shot down or by whom. Maj. Alejandro Arguello, director of Nicaragua's civil aeronautics, quoted regional air controllers as saying the roof of the plane tore away before the crash. It was the worst air crash in Central American history. Among the dead were the Honduran Minister of Labor, Armando Blanco Paniagua; and Mario Rodriguez Cubero, an aide to Costa Rican president Oscar Arias. "I was asleep, and when I woke up we were on the ground," said Rosario Ubeda Gonzalez, a 30-year-old Nicaraguan who runs a restaurant in Shreveport, with her husband.
