A Permits through the first five months to the Boat tips, Pekinite drowns I'EKIN (PNSi Mrs. Nancy Eggena. 65. of 3228 Court, drowned Monday afternoon afternoon in a boating accident near Juneau, Alaska. She was in a boat with her son-in-law son-in-law son-in-law son-in-law son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Terrance Lennon, and an aunt of Mr. Lcnnon, when the boat tipped. Mr. Lennon was able to rescue his wife and his aunt. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Hcv. Darwood Kesselmayer officiating. Burial will be in Woodrow Cemetery near South Pekin. Visitation will be from 2-4 2-4 2-4 and 7-9 7-9 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Preston Euneral Home. She will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. She was born Nov. 4, 1905, in Cincinnati Cincinnati Township, a daughter of William and Annie McRridc McCown. She was marncd to John L Eggena May 8, 1927, at Pekin. He died Jan. 24. 1960. Surviving are three daughters. Mrs, Dalta Lou Stewart, Pekin; Mrs. Valera Lennon, Mrs. Joyce Hermes, Juneau, Alaska; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandson. great-grandson. great-grandson. A sister and two grandsons preceded her in death. She was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member and past president of the Concordia Society of the church, the Pekin YWCA and was a director of the organization, the Pekin Hospital Auxiliary, Peoria Academy of Science, and the Rockhounds. She was also a past captain of the Red Cross Nurses Aides. She was also a Civil Defense driver and had worked for American Distilling Co. 37 years and retired in November, 1970. She had been visiting her two daughters since last Dec. 15, after suffering suffering a stroke.,
