B-N fans for epic victory EDITH BRADY-LUNNY CHICAGO Former McLean County Board Chairman Matt Sorensen pleaded guilty Wednesday to a single count of wire fraud during a 20-minute hearing in U.S. District Court for the Northern District in Chicago. Federal prosecutor Sunil R. Harjani read portions of a 16- page plea agreement in which Sorensen admitted to conspiring with co-defendant Navdeep Arora to defraud McKinsey a Chicago consulting rm, of almost $500,000 in unearned consulting fees.

Sorensen was indicted in August 2015 on ve counts of wire fraud related to his work as an internal consultant for State Farm. According to charges, Sorensen schemed with Arora, a consultant with McKinsey to submit false claims to the Bloomington-based insurance rm. The plea agreement makes Sorensen and Arora equally responsible for restitution of $490,975 to McKinsey. Sorensen stood at the bench with his lawyer Stuart Chanen as U.S. District Court Judge Ronald Guzman explained the plea deal.
