February 28, 1990 Gibson City Courier 7 Obituaries Ruth E. Jayne Ruth E. Jayne, age 80 of Bellflower died at 7:15 p.m. Monday, February 26, 1990 at Gibson Manor, Gibson City. She was taken to.

CalvertBelangee-Bruce Funeral Home in Bellflower where funeral arrangements are pending. James Lawless The funeral Mass for James W. Lawless, age 92, a resident of Fairbury for the past 10 years and formerly of Strawn, was held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Rose's Catholic Church in Strawn with the Reverend Richard Brunskill officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Culkin-Diggle Funeral Home, Chatsworth with Christian wake service at 7:30 p.m.. Mr. Lawless died at 6:20 p.m.

Tuesday, February 20, 1990 at Helen Lewis Smith Pavilion, Fairbury. He was born November 28, 1897 at Chatsworth, a son of Patrick Joseph and Ella Ryan He married Alma Fulton on February 1, 1922 at El Paso. She died May 7, 1948. He married Elizabeth Walsh on January 27, 1951 in Campus. She survives at Fairbury.

Other survivors include five sons, Joseph of Naples, Florida; Richard of Kokomo, Indiana; Jerome of Strawn; John of Terre Haute, Indiana; and Daniel, Jacksonville, Florida; five daughters, Mary Wurmnest, Gib- son City; Veronica Hubly, Chatsworth; Alma Lemme, Phoenix, Arixona; Theresa Kerber, Piper City; and Sister Aurelia Wurmnest, SSJ, St. Augustine, Florida; three sisters, Ella McFadzan, Mesa, Arizona; Catherine Sisk, Shelby, Montana; and Genevieve Entwistle, Morris; 42 grandchildren and 61 greatgrandchildren. Two sons, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Lawless farmed in the Strawn area and raised polled Hereford cattle and registered Belgian draft horses.

He retired from farming in 1960. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Fairbury and the Knights of Columbus in Chatsworth. He was educated in Chatsworth schools and graduated from St. Joseph's College at Rensselaer, Indiana.

Memorials may be made 1 to a charity of the donor's choice or to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Renovation Fund, Chatsworth. Lance A. Killian The funeral of Lance A. Killian, age 27 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, formerly of Melvin and Bloomington, was held Monday at 11 a.m.

at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington and at 11:30 at Holy Trinity Church, Bloomington. The Reverend Thomas Maloney officiated with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Mr.

Killian died at 9:08 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 1990 at Broken Arrow Medical Center near Tulsa, Oklahoma from complications of diabetes. He was born June 12, 1962 in Kankakee, a son of Mark A. and Judith A. Metten Killian.

He married Ann Smith on June 25, 1983 in Gibson City and she survives. Other survivors include his parents of Melvin; one son, Calvin at home; four brothers, James of Champaign; and Bruce, Andy and Steve, all of Melvin; paternal grandmother, Marie Killian of Towanda; and maternal grandmother, Marjorie Legg of Bloomington. His paternal and maternal grandfathers preceded him in death. Mr. Killian was a 1980 graduate of Melvin-Sibley High School and a graduate of Illinois State University, Normal.

He worked as a health claims examiner for State Farm I Insurance Co. at the Oklahom as Regional office at Tulsa. He had previously worked for State Farm in Bloomington and Birmingham, Alabama. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Tulsa.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Mahlon Zebarth Mahlon E. Zebarth, age 77 of rural Melvin, died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 1990 at his home. His funeral was conducted at 10:30 a.m.

Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Melvin with the Reverend Donald Kumpf officiating. Burial was in Melvin Cemetery. Visitation was held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at LambYoung Funeral Home in Roberts and for one hour before the service Saturday at the church.

Mr. Zebarth was born January 21, 1913 in Wall Township, a son of Gustav and Mary Spellmeyer Zebarth. He married Frances Wills on January 11, 1936 in Gibson City. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Robert of Loda; one daughter, Rita McPherson of Melvin; one sister, Fern Cornelius, Chatsworth and five grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Mr. Zebarth farmed all of his adult life in the Melvin area retiring in 1987. He was a member of Wall Township Board; a Wall Township supervisor and ditch commissioner; and a member of LymanWall Landfill. Mr.

Zebarth was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church; the Lutheran Brotherhood; and St. Peter's Lutheran Church Council. Memorials may be made to his church or to an organization of the donor's choice. Gilbert Graham The funeral of Gilbert "Gil" Lee Graham, age 38 of Saybrook was conducted at 2:30 p.m.

Saturday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce -Bruce Funeral Home in Saybrook. The Reverend Carl Hendry officiated with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Saybrook. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr.
