Those planning to attend are asked to bring a human-interest seeking an Illinois Department of Public Health foodservice sanitation manager's certificate will be held Jan. 16 and 18 at the Willow Pond Golf Club in Rantoul from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exam will be given Tues. Jan.

23 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Willow Pond. This class is offered by SVille Co and will be conducted by Sue Summerville, who is a certified FSS instructor with 11 years of FSS teaching experience. Foodservice employees attending the class will receive instructor and hands-on practice in current Illinois timetemperature requirements for cooking, cooling and refrigeration, hand contact with ready-to-eat foods, use of a consumer advisory, cross-contamination, cleaning and sanitizing, HACCP concepts, and foods and Siroblems associated with recent oodborne outbreaks. Women of the Moose The Women of the Moose Chapter 88 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Moose Lodge. Gibson City Lions Club The Gibson City Lion's Club will meet at noon Tuesday at Heartland Bank in Gibson City.

23 at the company's home office in Cropsey. The purpose of this meeting is to elect three directors and for the transaction of any business that may be brought forth during the annual meeting. Each policyholder who is insured with Belle Prairie Mutual Insurance Co. is entitled to one vote to elect directors and will also have a vote in the business transacted during the annual meeting of the policyholders. Foodservice manager's course offered in Jan.

A two-day course for persons 4-H Livestock deadline nears 4-H members and their families are reminded of the Jan. 5 livestock enrollment deadline. This deadline allows 4-H families a full week after the holidays to complete livestock enrollment forma. Livestock areas are beef including market heifer and bucket calf classes, Bheep, swine, dairy, horse, goat and embryology. All enrollment forms must be in the Ford-Iroquois Extension office at 912 W.

NTO Club The NTO Club will meet Wed. Jan. 3 with a potluck dinner to be served at noon at the Colfax American Legion Hall. The program will follow the meal and business meeting. Greeters will be Ethel Powell and Clara Felkamp.

Serving on the kitchen committee are Mary Ann Milton and Juanita Rischar. Colfax Legion Auxiliary The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 653 of Colfax will meet Wed. Jan. 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the Colfax American Legion Hall.

Edwina Bowman will serve refreshments. The program will be on legislation by Diane Billingsley. Memorial services are pending at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City. Mrs. Helgesen was born September 19, 1916 at Minneapolis, Minnesota a daughter of Alvin Oscar and Charlotte Ingrid Ostrom Borreson.

She married John Kermit Helgesen in 1945 at Dodge City, Kansas. He died in 1977. Survivors include one son, Gregg Helgesen of Champaign; one daughter, Lisa Helgesen of Gibson City; five grandchildren, Jeff Helgesen of Champaign, Cassie Helgesen-McCabe of Obituaries Rose Overstreet Rose (Posie) Overstreet, age 71 of West Salem, formerly of Paxton, died at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2000 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services were held December 22 at Knapp-Miller Funeral Home in Paxton with the Reverend Chet Travis officiating. Burial was in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. There was no public visita-. tion. Mrs.

Overstreet was born November 27, 1929 at Perrysburg, Ohio a daughter of Church Bulletin Colfax Methodist UMW The UMW of the Colfax United Methodist Church will meet Thurs. Jan. 4 at 1:30 p.m. at the church. Jean Keighin will give the program.

Hostesses will be Edna Sinclair and Viola Schultze. Hustlers Society The Hustlers Society of the Colfax Christian Church will meet at 2 p.m. Thurs. Jan. 2 at the church.

Devotions will be given by Nashville, TN, Anne Helgesen of Champaign, Molly Helgesen of Champaign and Amy Wolf of Gibson City; three great-grandchildren, Maggie McCabe, MacKenzie Helgesen-Pankey and Andre Patrick McCabe and one sister, June Simmons of Seattle, Washington. Mrs. Helgesen was an avid antique collector and dealer. She was a professional model for Daytons. A member of the Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she has lived in Gibson City since 1990.

Memorials may be made to Self Contained and Two Tank Units Cz'A 217-7CC-G231 liivi wit John and Icy Parrish. She married William W. Overstreet Jr. on July 3, 1948 at Champaign. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1977.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Overstreet of Champaign, Thomas Overstreet of Paxton and John Overstreet of Paxton; one daughter, Katherine Overstreet of West Salem; three brothers, Tom Parrish of New York, Milton Parrish of Oklahoma and Bob Parrish of Ohio; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Rose Houchens. Hostesses are Helen Williams and Rose Houchens. ALC Rachel Circle The Rachel Circle of American Lutheran Church of Gibson City will meet at 9 a.m.

Thurs, Jan. 11 at the home of Betty Mooney. ALC Martha Circle The Martha of American Lutheran Church'uf Gibson City will meet at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 17 at Shaner Villa in Gibson City.

Mary Timm will be the leader. Selected Merchandise Water Conditioning Water Softeners Mrs. Overstreet worked with her husband at Overstreet Jewelry Store in Paxton. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Paxton and the American Legion Auxiliary in Paxton. Her hobbies included genealogy and gardening.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Evelyne Helgesen Evelyne J. Petie" Helgesen, age 84 of Gibson City died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2000 at Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City. Viola Nelson will serve as hostess.
