OTHER EVENTS OF NOTE At a party at the Alpha Sigma sorority house in Berkley, recently, the engagement of Miss Augusta Willett to Mr. J.

Benjamin Davison was announced. Miss Willet is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Willett, of Santa Paula, California. She is a graduate of the University of California with the class of 1922 and is a member of the Alpha Sigma Delta sorority.

Mr. Davison is a former Normal boy and is very well known here. He is the son of Mrs. C. E.

Clerke, of 207 East Cherry street. He is a graduate of the Normal public schoo's and Normal high school with the class of 1916 and is a member of the Masonic lodge. He is now connected with White Automobile company San Francisco. Friends in Normal w'll be pleased to learn of Mr. Davison's coming marriage.

To Beat Bloomington The football game to be played on the Normal University campus tomorrow afternoon between University high school and Bloomington high school is holding all the attent.on of the high school world in Normal this week. Former Normal Woman Elected Mrs. Jessie Bullock Kastner, a former Normal woman, has been elected representative for the 39th district, of California, to the state legisature in the recent election, according to word received here by her uncle, Louis P.

McCul'ough, of Mason street. She was running on the Farmer -Labor ticket and won by a majority of 600 votes over her Republican opponent. Mrs. Kastner formerly lived here and is a graduate of the Normal University. She has been student at the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois, as well.

She is a sister of Miss Agnes Bullock, who was elected County Superintendent of Schools Woodford County In the recent election and is a cousin of Street Commissolner H. W. Bul'ock, of 400 South Main street. Normal. Band Plays at Assembly.

The I. S. N. U. band played seven numbers the assembly period yesterday.

The organization contains thirty-five members now and Prof. F. W. Westhoff, director, feels that it is proving a success th's year. It received much applause yesterday after each number was played.

Preparing for Contest. The annual Phil-Wright contest is not so far away that it is not recelving attention from members each society. The Wrighton'ans are now holding their and literary try -outs and within a few days will be able to announce their contestants. The contest will consist of the usual events this year. The debate will be on the subject, "Resolved, That the Retail Mail Order House is COOKSVILLE.
