Bresnahan will take his track squad to the new armory fori the first work-out of the year on January 4. Enthusiasm for the sport Is at a high pitch here following the mixer attended by three hundred men a large number of whom signified their Intention of reporting for practice.

While the Iowa coach Is not openly optimistic over the prospects, he feels that a well-balanced team will enter all meets. Field events will be stronger than In several years with Dauber, Kriz, Johnstone and Dulne to do the heavy work. Losses by graduation in the running events will handicap the coach to a large extent for he depended upon such men as Noll, Wilson, Ashton, Khope and Foster. The sensational mile relay team which has been given credit for a new American Intercollegiate record of 3:16 9-10 and will probably be given the world's intercollegiate mark when the International Federation meets to consider record claims will have the veterans Captain Brooklns and Morrow aa a neucleus.
