Bloomington-Normal Deaths Herbert Vielhak Herbert A. Vielhak, 73, R.R. 3, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Brokaw Hospital. Mr.

Vielhak worked 45 years for the old American Foundry and Furnace Company, which became the AFCO Division of Modine Manufacturing in 1964. He retired in 1965. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Beck Memorial Home. Bishop K.

Gerald Balls will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr.

Vielhak was born Jan. 4. 1900, in Bloomington, a son of Louis and Martha Schultz Vielhak. He married Gertrude Sayers in 1921 in Bloomington. She died in January, 1957.

He married Hazel Matlock in 1957. She died Sept. 19, 1972. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Herrick, Florissant, and Mrs.

Lois Francisco, 1007 E. Olive; a brother, Clarence, R.R. four sisters, Mrs. Elsie Albrecht, R.R. Mrs.

Florence Kimes, R.R. Mrs. Lois Able, R.R. 3, and Mrs. Martha Ward, 1202 W.

Miller, and four grandchildren. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Claude Harris The funeral of Claude Albert Harris, 66, Bradenton, formerly of Bloomington, who died Wednesday, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Beck Memorial Home, with the Rev. Nathaniel Gwin officiating.

Burial will be in Gridley Cemetery, Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. He was born Dec. 28, 1906, in Ellsworth, a son of Everett and Carrie Wainwright Harris. He married Jetta Price. Surviving are his wife; a son, David, Chicago; a stepson, John Teter, Stuart, daughter, Mrs.

Frank Ward, in New Mexico; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Kay Riesch, Peoria; four brothers, Abe, 535 W. Grove; Charles, 1214 Skyland Court: James, Pierceton, and Russell Nielsen, Wichita, two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Quinn, 1011 W. Front, and Mrs.

Nellie Arnold, Chicago, and eight grandchildren. He was a past member of the Eagles. Callie Watters Callie Watters, 95, a native of Le Roy, recently of the Hamilton Hotel, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Mennonite Hospital. He was admitted Feb.

2. He will be taken to the Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy. Mr. Watters' mother, Mrs. Alice Watters, was Le Roy's oldest resident when she died in 1959 at the age of 98.

Orville Snodgrass Orville Snodgrass, 75, of 912 S. Wright, was dead on arrival at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Brokaw Hospital, where he was taken from 301 E. Miller by Bloomington rescue squad. Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack.

Man, 64, in hospital after fall on ice A 64-year-old Bloomington man injured his right knee at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday when he slipped on a patch of ice in front of his home. James H. Heath, S. McLean, was taken by the Bloomington rescue squad to Brokaw Hospital.

He was in fair condition Thursday noon. Firemen applied a full leg splint before a Gerald Gibson Campus ministries director to speak Gerald Gibson, director of campus ministries for the Christian Campus Foundation at the University of Illinois, will preach at the 6:30 p.m. service Sunday at the Emerson Street. 8, 1973 Pantagraph B-6 Bloomington- Normal, Bert Kendall PAXTON (PNS) Clarence N. Swanson, 67, of 528 E. Patton, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home. He been ill for the past nine years.

"His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home, with the Rev. Walter Chellberg officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

Thursday. Mr. Swanson was born in Paxton June 23, 1905, a son of John G. and Clara Ellison Swanson. He never married.

Surviving are a sister, Miss Evelyn Swanson, Paxton, and several cousins. He had been a produce wholesaler for a number of years and was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Paxton. Miss Clara Green LINCOLN (PNS) -Miss Clara E. Green, 94, formerly of 832 Wyatt, died at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday at the Mary Henry Nursing Home here.

She served for 30 years as governess at the Odd Fellows Children's Home here. Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Holland and Barry Funeral Home. The Rev. Wilson R.

Forbush will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. She was born Jan.

20, 1879, in Lincoln, a daughter of John and Carrie Meatheringham Green. Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Ethel Leonard of Lincoln, and 11 nieces and nephews. Miss Green was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the WSCS and the Mispah Sunday School Class of the church of the Rebekah Lodge. R.

L. Stanford dies; headed power firm Wins footrace Met by deputy, man flees from courthouse A 24-year-old man escaped on foot from the basement of the McLean County courthouse when he was confronted Wednesday afternoon by a deputy with a warrant for his arrest on a charge of rape. Witnesses said Mark Garber, N. Colton, ran out the north door of the courthouse, pursued by McLean County sheriff's deputy Roger Mardis. Mardis shouted at Garber to halt, threatening to shoot if he didn't, but Garber fled north on Main, witnesses said.

His funeral and burial were at Gypsum. He was born May 7, 1895 at Laurel, and married Nellie Zabel in St. Louis, Jan. 9, 1917. Surviving are his wife; four sons, William San Francisco, John Sunnyvale, Wallace, Vail, Warren, Leadville, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A daughter, a brother and two sisters preceded him in death. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Oneida, Ill. William F. Bechtold DWIGHT (PNS) William F. Bechtold, 93, died at 8 a.m.

Wednesday at Livingston County Nursing Home, Pontiac. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Von Qualen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard A. Herath officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He was born Nov. 2, 1897, in Germany, a son of Mr.

and Mrs. Frederick Becktold. Surviving are a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle. He was a retired sheet metal worker.

Miss Velma Moore CLINTON (PNS)--Miss Velma V. Moore, 65, died at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday at Dr. John Warner Hospital in Clinton. Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m.

Saturday at Herington-Calvert Funeral Home, with the Rev. S. LeRoy Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m.

Friday at the funeral home. She was born Sept. 23, 1907, in De Witt County, a daughter of Ollie and Nola Zimmerman Moore. Surviving are a sister, Miss Rebecca Moore, Clinton; three brothers, Kenneth, Holt, Sheldon Moore, Waynesville; T. J.

Moore, Kankakee. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Chatsworth superintendent's father dies in Florida CHATSWORTH Ernest C. Stuckey, father of Robert Stuckey, superintendent of Chatsworth schools, died Tuesday in Bradenton, Fla. Funeral and burial will be in Effingham, Mr.

Stuckey's home until three years ago when he moved to Florida. Man forfeits bond Darrell L. Welch, 24, of W. Washington, forfeited $35 bond Wednesday in associate division of circuit court on a charge of passing a worthless $25 check at the Kroger Co. store, 1500 N.

Campbell, 50, of Odell died at 10:14 a.m. Wednesday at Livingston County Nursing Home. She had been in failing health three years. Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Raleigh J.

Harris Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Cox will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

She was born Oct. 22, 1922, at Dwight, a daughter of Herbert and Wanda Mortimore Drew. She was married to Lon E. Campbell Feb. 22, 1953, at Odell.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Douglas and David, both at home; two brothers, Herbert Drew, Chicago; Wesley Drew, Peoria; a sister, 1 Miss Dorothy Drew, Kankakee. Her parents and a daughter preceded her in death. She attended Dwight schools and took nurses training at Brokaw Hospital in Normal. She 1 had been a nurse at the Dwight Veterans Administration Hospital. PAXTON Ronald Luther Stanford, 69, an original director and former president of the Eastern Illinois Power Company at Paxton, died at his Paxton home at 12:10 p.m.

Wednesday. He had been ill two years. The incident occurred about 3:20 p.m. when Garber was in the courthouse inquiring about a continuance for his Feb. 9 hearing on a charge of burglary.

That charge stems from a Jan. 13 break-in at 1710 Wildwood. Sheriff John W. King said his office was notified of the warrant for Garber's arrest on a charge of rape, and was told the suspect was in the building. Deputy Mardis had called Garber out and was attempting to arrest him when the man ran, King said.

Garber is wanted in an incident involving a 20-year-old Bloomington woman. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Glenn Arnold and Mrs. Elizabeth Adams, both of Champaign; two brothers, Kenneth, in and Ralph, Lombard; a sister, Mrs. Robert Burke, Peoria; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was past master of the Blue Lodge at Loda.

Scheeler, 64, of 1503 S. Fourth died at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday at Pekin Memorial Hospital. He had been a patient since Jan. 29 and in failing health for several years.

He was taken to the Kuecks Funeral Home. He was born in Pekin June 12, 1908, a son of Adam and Anna Erxleben Scheeler. He married Dorothy Winters I in Peoria, June 26, 1931. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Marlene Brock, Pekin; two sons, William, Pekin; Donald, Peoria; a brother, Adam, rural Pekin; four sisters, Mrs.

Violet Gallaway, Bartonville; Mrs. Dorothy Angel, Creve Coeur; Mrs. Elda Fox, East Peoria; Mrs. LaVerne Hart, rural Pekin; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
