59 Pantagraph Carriers Tour Chicago 3 Days i ii A 3K -J' pi II 'V If i Tuesday afternoon the Pantagraph veteran carriers watched the Cubs drop an 8 to 5 declsiori to the Houston Astros. Avid fans saw seven home runs during the game. Astros killed the Cubs with five runs the top of the ninth inning. Dennis Harsh (lower right) took a number of pictures of his fellow carriers during the three day Chicagoland tour. Dennis is pictured with Warren Mays in their Sherman Hotel room.

ing the non-stop elevators to the Prudential observation deck Wednesday morning. A steady misting rain Wednesday dampened the afternoon at Biverview Amusement Park. Monday evening the carriers went to the Roosevelt Theatre to see "Walk, Don't Run" starring Cary Grant This past Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 59 members of the Pantagraph Two Year Club carrier organization toured Chicagoland. The group left at 7 a.m. Monday and arrived back at the Pantagraph building at 8:30 p.m.

Here three boys enjoy the sunshine on the sandy beach.

Carriers had free time for shopping Tuesday morning. Don McNeill interviewed Jarleth Eppel, Chenoa, on the Breakfast Club radio broadcast from the Aller-ton Hotel. The broadcast was taped Wednesday morning, and was heard over WJBC on Thursday morning. Chow time at the Forum Cafeteria in the Loop area offered a variety of tempting dishes to the hungry group. The 59 carriers were accompanied by six Pantagraph circulation staffers.

Carriers paid a portion of the total trip expense. The Two Year Club was organized 18 years ago to encourage boys to remain on their Pantagraph routes for two or more years. -1 I The Museum of Science and Industry displays were visited Monday afternoon. Here three Pantagraph carriers view the Strategic Air Command display, next to the Gemini mock-up space capsule. Boys ate Monday noon luncheon in the Museum's cafeteria.

A convention of fishing tackle manufacturers at the Sherman Hotel provided this giant bass background in the hotel's lobby. Mrs. America was in attendance ai the sales convention. Boys were roomed on the 20th and 21st floors. Tuesday evening the group took the two hour boatride aboard the Wendella cruiser.

The Chicago skyline from the lake was filled with twinkling lights, colorful fountains, and a galaxv of towering skyscrapers. The Two Year Club annual trip is just'one of many special events and incentive programs for Pantagraph carriers during the year..
