L. Bailen. He is a graduate of BHS and attended Phoenix College and is employed by the State of Illinois. Mtes Doris Rapier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

L. F. Rapier of 619 E. Chestnut, will be married In June to Thomas C. Moatz of Chicago.

His parents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Moatz. She is a graduate of Trinity High School and is attending Patricia Stevens Career College and will graduate In June.

He graduated from St. Patrick's High School and attended Lewis College. He served in the U.S. Air Force and is self-employed. Miss Janet Toepke's betrothal to Earl Dean McBeath of 500 Warren, Normal, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Loren McBeath of Dwight, is being announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Toepke of 3 Ethell Parkway. They plan a May 16 wedding.

Miss Toepke, a Heyworth High School graduate, is employed by State Farm Insurance Companies. The C. VV. Youngs of 1012 Bakewell, Normal, are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Judy Lane, to Raymond Eugene Curtis, son of the late A. E. Curtises of Champaign.

Dameron, son of Mrs. Stover Dameron of rural Towanda and the late Mr. Dameron. Both Miss Murray and her fiance are 1960 graduates of Normal Community High School. She is a senior in elementary education at Illinois State University and will graduate this June.

Payne of 915 Broadway, Normal are revealing the engagement of their daughter, Judith Lea Conroy, to Gary Edward Martjn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Martyn of Rantoul. The couple is planning a June wedding. He attends Southern Illinois University and she attends Illinois State University.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Weidig of 313 W. Emerson have announced the engagement of their daughter, Carol, to John D. Conroy.

He is a son of Mr, and Mrs. Ed Payne of 915 Broadway, Normal. Miss Weidig is a graduate of Trinity High School and Is employed by General Telephone Co. Mr. Conroy, also a graduate of Trinity High School, is in the United States Air Force and is stationed at Homestead, Fla.

A July wedding is planned. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Arras of R.R. 4, Bloomington, are revealing the engagement of their daughter, Kay LaVerne, to James E.

Larimer, son of the Peter E. Larimers of Goshen, Ind. The bride-elect is a graduate of Normal Community High School and is a sophomore at Bluffton College, Bluffton, Ohio. Mr. Larimer earned his bachelor of science degree in chemistry at Bluffton College and is employed in Laurel, Md.

A June wedding is planned. Mlss Lurinda Lee Lobdell of Colfax, daughter of the Homer Lobdclls, Is the fiancee of Robert Arthur Compratt, son of the Arthur Compratts of Steger. She is a graduate of Octavia High School and is a senior at the University of Illinois and is majoring in elementary education. Her sorority is Gamma Phi Beta. He is a graduate of Bloom Township High School and is also a senior at the University of Illinois.

He is a member of Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity. On June 20 in the Fairbury Methodist Church Miss Karen Bounds of 602 E. Grove and Albert Wolff of 1407 W. Grove will be married. Her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Olen Bounds of Forrest, are making the announcement. His parents are the Albert E. Wolffs of the Grove address. She is a secretary for the State Farm Insurance Companies.

The bride is a graduate of Bloomington High School. Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Sheets of Carthage announce the engagement of their daughter Jane, to Dennis Stubblefield, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Price Stubblcficld of Stanford. Miss Sheets is a junior at the University of Illinois, majoring In child development in home economics. She is a member of 4-H House. Mr. Stubblefield is a senior at the University of Illinois and a second year student in the College of Veterinary Medicine.

The zany contemporary line, while not as piercingly cruel as the comics of 50 years ago, offers such fun as "I guess your Valentine will have to be able to kiss like Casanova and make money like J. P. Morgan, so that let's me out I kiss like J. P.
