Welch was born Jan. 8, 1897, at Birkbeck, a daughter of Robin and Charlotte Thrasher Spencer. She married Nathan Welch Sept 13, 1915. He died Dec. 23, 1940.

Survivors Include four sons, Virgil, Wapella; Merle Delmar and John, both of Clinton; and Donald, Arkadelphia, four daughters, Mabel Manigan, Killeen, Texas; Eva Plummer, Maroa; Ada Blake, Wapella; and Mary Query, Decatur, 26 grandchildren; 60 greatgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Two sons, one daughter, one brother, two sisters, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild preceded her in death. Mrs. Welch attended the Clinton Assembly of God. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Ambulance Service or to Crestview Nursing Center.

Edward Hauter MORTON Edward E. Hauter, 89, of Delray Beach, since 1975, a former Morton resident died at 6 a.m. Sunday (May 12, 1991) at his home. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Lutheran Church, Morton, the Rev.

Chuck Simonson officiating. Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery, Morton. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home, Morton, is handling arrangements.

He was born Jan. 13, 1902, in Morton, the son of Joseph and Emma Wittmer Hauter. He married Clara E. Oekel June 21, 1927, in Pekin. She died March 27, 1989.

Survivors Include two daughters, Phyllis M. Spinner, Delray Beach, and Judith Shank, Lake Bluff, three brothers, Joseph, Ben S. and Chris all of Morton; six grand-children; and two greatgrandchildren. Three sisters preceded him in death. Mr.

Hauter worked for the former Interlocking Fence and Meyer Manufacturing of Morton for more than 40 years, retiring in 1965 as treasurer. He attended the Bethel Lutheran Church, Morton, was past president of Morton Optimist Club and had served on the Morton Grade School board. Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church. Mobil-Land Mobile Home Park, Bloomington; two daughters, Carol Hobson, 702V S. Madison St, and Dorothy Johnson, 1207 S.

East St, both in Bloomington; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by two daughters, two brothers, four sisters and one great-grandchild. She had worked for a number of years at Beer Nuts, retiring in 1965. Ruch Emil 'Toad" Herman Ruch, 89, of 1401 S. Madison St, Bloomington, formerly of the Farmer City area, died at 4:30 a.m. yesterday (May 14, 1991) at his residence. His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, the Rev.

Lee Reed officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr.

Ruch was born March 1, 1902, in Heyworth, a son of Emil G. and Anna Bobzine Ruch. He married Grace Stalker July 30, 1924, in Bloomington. She survives. Also surviving are one son, William Lexington; 17 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, four brothers and two sisters. Mr. Ruch was a retired farmer and had worked at Owens Nursery and Funk Seed both of Bloomington. He was a member of Weedman United Methodist Church, to which memorials may be made. Mrs. Sowers was born Oct 17, 1907, in Adams, a daughter of William and Daisy Barry Page. She married Dr. Herbert T. Sowers on June 17, 1942, in Streator.

He died June 19, 1983. Surviving are one sister, Erma Lewis, Chicago; and one brother, Elden Page, Chicago. Three sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Sowers graduated from Charles W.

Seymour High School, Payson, in 1924. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Western State College, Macomb. She taught elementary school for 25 years and later worked as a receptionist in her husband's office for 20 years. Mrs. Sowers was a member of Park United Presbyterian Church, Streator, an honorary education fraternity at Western Illinois University and the Platonic Literary Society.

Lura Ann Sturm TOLUCA The funeral Mass of Lura Ann Sturm, 66, of Chicago, formerly of Toluca, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St Ann Catholic Church, Toluca. The Rev. Tom Badovsky will officiate. Burial will be in St Ann Cemetery, Toluca.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Aimone-Froelich Memorial Home, Toluca. She died at 11:57 a.m. Sunday (May 12, 1991) at her residence. She was born May 29, 1924, at Toluca, a daughter of Charles and Ann E.

Thorn, 78, of Gibson City, formerly of Ar-rowsmith, died at 11:20 a.m. yesterday (May 14, 1991) at her home. Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, the Rev. Clarence Taylor officiating.

There will be no visitation. Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, has charge of arrangements. Mrs. Thorn was born July 28, 1912, in Arrowsmith, a daughter of Roy and Ella Reynolds Hougham. She married Henry Thom Feb.

19, 1944, in Bloomington. He survives. Also surviving is one brother, Laurence Hougham, Afton, Okla. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. The Thorns moved to Gibson City from Arrowsmith in 1985.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Helen VIII PONTIAC Helen Louise VM, 82, of 4 Lincolnshire Apartments, Pontiac, died at 11:40 a.m. yesterday (May 14, 1991) at the Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan. She had been in ill health for several years. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m.

Friday at St Mary's Catholic Church, Pontiac, the Rev. E. Edward Higgins officiating. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery, Pontiac. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m.

Thursday at Raleigh J. Harris Funeral Home, Pontiac, where the rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. followed by a 7:30 p.m. prayer service. She was born Oct 31, 1908, in Pontiac, the daughter of Robert and Mary Elizabeth Fender Woods.

She married Herman F. Vill on Dec. 14, 1935, in Johnson City, N.Y. He died Feb. 27, 1979.

Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Smith, Shirley Wynant and Frances Becker, all of Pontiac; seven grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Geraldine Hynes, Pontiac. An infant daughter, one great-grandson, six brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. She graduated from St Mary's Grade School and attended Pontiac Township High School. Beer and Ruth Tebbetts, both of St Petersburg, and Josephine Jeck, Eureka. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mrs. Fenocchi died at 12:50 a.m. yesterday (May 13, 1991) at Monte Cassino Health Care Center, To-' luca. She was born April 16, 1924, in Macon, a daughter of Samuel and Mary Ronchetto Ronchetto. She married Ralph Senocchi Feb.

23, 1946, in Kincaid. He survives. He was a 24-year veteran of the Bloomington Fire Department, where he was a representative to the Trades and Laborers union. He worked at Rowe Construction Bloomington, during his off-duty hours. He was voted 1990 Laborer of the Year by WJBC. He also was a Marine Corps veteran. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or his church.

Martha Ford Martha P. Ford, 92, of 905 W. Wood St, Bloomington, died at 9:35 p.m. Monday (May 13, 1991) at Mennonite Long Term Care. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m.

She was born May 15, 1898, in Heyworth, a daughter of James Jackson and Jemima Rutherford. She married Richard Ford, who died in 1944.

Survivors include three nieces, including Nola Winter, 504 Patterson Drive, Bloomington, and Irene Husseman, Grldley; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by one daughter, six brothers and three sisters. She had been a registered nurse from 1928 until her retirement She was a member of the Park United Methodist Church. Ruth M. She was born May 18, 1913, in Minonk, a daughter of Arthur and Minnie Gerdes Goodwin. She married Homer C. Parks, who survives. Surviving are one daughter, Kathy Verdun, R.R. 4, Blooming-ton; one sister, Marcella Lawless, R.R. 3, Streator, and one granddaughter. One sister preceded her in death. Mrs.

Patterson lived most of her life in the Streator and Ransom area. She was a member of Ransom United Methodist Church. She worked for the Lipton Tea Co. and Owens-Illinois Glass Co. for many years.

Monday (May 13, 1991) at Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria, following a lengthy illness. He was born April 10, 1955, in Bloomington, a son of Eugene M. and Sarah Schulz Smith. He married Belinda K. Gossman on April 23, 1983, in Effingham.

She sur-' vives. Other survivors include his parents, 35 Terrace Lawn, R.R, 2, Bloomington; paternal grandmother, Marie Smith, Glen Dean, one daughter, Melissa Smith, 64 Brookshire Green, Bloomington; two brothers, Douglas, Houston, Texas, and Gary, San Antonio, Texas; and two sisters, Patricia Smith, 602 W. Smith was a member of First Church of God in Bloomington, and the American Postal Workers Union Local 228, Bloomington. He was a 1973 graduate of Bloomington High School.
