Mr. Biddle had been a member of the Bloomington Rotary Club for 37 years.

He had served as president, vice president and song leader for many years and headed the music, entertainment and Ladles Night committees. In 1975, "for past service to the club," Mr. Biddle was named a Paul Harris Fellow, only the fourth member to be so honored In the history of the local club. He also was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and the Wednesday Morning Breakfast Club. He had been a member of the Bloomington Country Club.

Memorials may be made to the church or to Westminster Village. Robert D. Johnson The funeral of Robert Don Johnson, 18, of 1415 N. Western Bloomington, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church, Viet vets' run joins with rally Two members of Central Illinois VletNow will run from the Normal Sheraton to Miller Park In Bloomington In conjunction with a POWMIA walk and rally Saturday in Washington, D.C.

VletNow members Dale Mills and Bill Read will carry American and POWMIA flags during the run that will proceed south on U.S. 51 through Normal and Bloomington to Wood Street and then to the. park. The two will end their run about 2 p.m. at the site of the Central Illinois Vietnam Veterans Memorial, which is currently under construction at the park.

Saturday will end a monthlong, nationwide walk by supporters of the MIAPOW movement. In Central Illinois, the walk began in Decatur Oct. 3. At the park, there will be a 30-minute program, which will Include a poem and prayer service to recognize those Americans still listed as missing In action or prisoners of war In Southeast Asia. Five sets of Jungle boots will be lined up at the memorial to symbolize the missing solldcrs from McLean County.

Diet and aging lecture's topic A lecture on the effect of diet on the aging process will be given at 8 p.m. Monday by Allan Richardson, an Illinois State University Normal; three brothers, Sid Rumsey, Wenatchee, Norman, Maxwell, and Clifford, Kenal, Alaska; one sister, Grace Welton, Hot Springs, six grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Mrs. Sherrard was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Normal; the American Legion Auxiliary; the Normal Sunshine Club; and Chapter FM of the PEO Sisterhood.

Memorials may be made to her church. Marian Stormont The memorial service of Marian Stormont, 89, of Milwaukee, formerly of Pontiac, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Pontiac. The Rev. William Sexton will officiate.

Inurnment will be In South Side Cemetery, Pontiac. Raleigh J. Harris Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Stormont died Aug.

25, 1987, at her son's home In Milwaukee after a lengthy Illness. Cremation rites were accorded. She was born Feb. 26, 1898, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Edward and Ida Barr. She married John L.

Stormont on Aug. 22, 1920, in Pittsburgh. He died In 1973. Surviving are one daughter, Jane Johnson, Minneapolis; three sons, John Thomas, Milwaukee; Edward, Princeton, and William, Honolulu; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. A son preceded her in death.

Mrs. Stormont was a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Pontiac. ried Nellie Mae Biggerstaf on Dec. 5, 1929, at Cooksvllle. She died Aug.

4, 1959. Survivors Include three daughters, Barbara De la Paz, Orion; Virginia MacPhail, 1110 Kern and Mrs. Engdahl, 505 E. Vernon both of Normal; five sisters, Mabel Copeland, Vega Buchholz and Ethel Duewer, all of Sun City, and Lucy Buchholz and Doral Buchholz, both of Berkeley, 10 grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. One son, one brother, one sister and one grandchild preceded him In death.

Mr. Buchholf attended Illinois State Normal University and was a distributor for Salerno Megowen Biscuit retiring in 1959. Gardening was his hobby, and Mr. Buchholz was an advocate of organic gardening. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Normal man's brother dies at 52 in Springfield Ronald W. Houska, 52, Springfield, brother of George Houska, 813 Smith Drive, Normal, died Tuesday (Nov. 3, 1987) at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Bisch Sons Memorial Home, Springfield.

Burial will be In Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield. Memorials may be made to Memorial Medical Center Foundation for Oncology Research, Springfield. Voters send four to Tri-Valley board There were four winners, including two incumbents, in Tuesday's Tri-Valley school board election. John H. Scholl and Barbara Os-tberg, the Incumbents, will Join newcomers Dennis Wentworth and Mark Smith on the board.

The four won with vote totals of 434, 421, 372 and 343 votes respectively. The other two candidates were Patricia Bell and Larry Stark. GRADUATES Bruce Alan Ewen, 901 Sptar Drlvt, Normal, received a matter of art degree Sept. 3 from Ohio State Umvertity, Columbia, Ohio. Bloomington.

The Rev. Walter J. Banks will officiate. Burial will be In Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.

Friday at Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloom- Mr. Johnson ington. Mr. Johnson, a Bloomington High School student and part-time pizza restaurant employee, died at 1:12 p.m. Tuesday (Nov.

.3, 1987) after he was wounded at a Normal restaurant. A story is on page Al. He was born March 15, 1969, in Peoria, a son of Leslie and Mary Neal Johnson. Survivors include his mother of 1415 N. Western Bloomington; three brothers, Donnie, Eric and Tyrone Roper, all of Denver; and three sisters, Angel Roper, Denver, and Debbie Johnson and Phyllis Johnson, both of Waterloo, Iowa.

Mr. Johnson was employed at Godfather's Pizza and Little Caesars Pizza. At Bloomington Junior High School and BUS, he participated in track and wrestling. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, to which memorials may be made. Florence Sherrard Florence Sherrard, 89, of 316 W.

Summit Normal, died at 3 a.m. yesterday (Nov. 4, 1987) at Brokaw Hospital, Normal. Her graveside funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Geneva Cemetery, Geneva, the Rev.

Cal Leads officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Stubblefield Funeral Home, Normal. She was born Dec. 29, 1897, in Briscoe, S.D., a daughter of Wilber and Maude Wilson Rumsey. She married Wayne F.

Hefner COLFAX The funeral of Bessie Jane Hefner, 97, of Colfax will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Colfax Christian Church, the Rev.

Beverly Scholer and the Rev. David Beebe will officiate. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax, and from 9 to 10 a.m.

Friday at the church. Mrs. Hefner, a lifelong resident of the area and active for many years in Colfax Christian Church, died at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 3, 1987) at Mennonite Hospital, Bloomington.

She had lived at Octavia Manor, Colfax, since 1982. She was born Nov. 10, 1889, in Lexington, a daughter of John A. and Alice Wells Weber. She married Owen Hefner on Feb.

7, 1911. He died Sept. 10, 1969. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hefner was a member of Colfax Christian Church and was honored on April 4, 1976, for her many years of service. She was a member of the Hustlers Society of the church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Memorials may be made to the church or to Octavia Manor. Eva Ratliff ATLANTA Eva May Ratliff, 92, formerly of Atlanta, died at 2 a.m.

yesterday (Nov. 4, 1987) at Men-nnnite Hospital, Bloomington. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Atlanta United Methodist Church, the Rev. Ron C.

Melzer and the Rev. Paul Beach officiating. Burial will be Friday in McLean Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born July 30, 1895, in Bureau County, a daughter of David Marion and Lucinda Lancaster Mason. She married Jackson C. Ratliff on April 30, 1924, in Indiana. He died June 14, 1967. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Ratliff was raised in McLean. Before her marriage, she worked as a telegrapher and station agent in Illinois and Indiana. For the last 30 years, she resided in Atlanta.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Atlanta, and was active in many community events. She was a resident of Bloomington Nursing Rehabilition Center, Bloomington, for the past 3Vi years. Memorials may be made to the church. Audrey L. Ziegele MORTON Audrey L.

Ziegele, 61, of Morton died at 1:15 a.m. yesterday (Nov. 4, 1987) at Riverview Community Healthview Center, East Peoria. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wilton Mortuary, Peoria, the Rev.

Charles Simonson officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Peoria. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary.

Mrs. Ziegele was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Peoria, a daughter of Amelia "Mollie" Diesenberg Steinseifer. She married Herman J. Ziegele on July 21, 1946, in Peoria.

He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Steven, Varna, and Charles, Zion; and five grandchildren. Ziegele was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Morton; Methodist Hospital Service League; and Endress Heights Homemakers Extension Association Unit. Memorials may be made to the Bethel Lutheran Church Expansion Fund. Duke Kirkpatrick ELLIOTT The funeral of Eugene M.

"Duke" Kirkpatrick, 65, of Elliott will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. The Rev. Clarence Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, where military rites will be ac corded by the Lee Lowery American Legion Post No.

568. There will be no visitation. Mr. Kirkpatrick died at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday (Nov.

3, 1987) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Danville. He was born Sept. 13, 1922, in Illinois, a son of Miller and Mabel Vincent Kirkpatrick. He married Viola Tipsord on Nov. 3, 1948, in Williamsport, Ind.

She died Aug. 29, 1978. Survivors include three sons, Gibson City; Delmar, R.R. 2, Bloomington; and Kenneth, Delavan; and two sisters, Erma Reining, Gibson City, and Mary Barnett, Amarlllo, Texas. One son, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

He was a resident of Elliott for seven years. An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Kirkpatrick was a member of the Lee Lowery American Legion Post No, 568 and the Elliott AMVETS. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Edith Pfeiffer GREEN VALLEY Edith Pfeiffer, 88, of Green Valley died last night (Nov.

4, 1987) at Hopedale Medical Complex. She was taken to Woolsey Funeral Home, Delavan. Gerald Hasty EUREKA Gerald D. Hasty, 57, of Eureka, died at 11:10 a.m. yesterday (Nov.

4, 1987) at St. Joseph's Hospital Medical Center, Bloomington. He had been ill several months. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Remmert Funeral Home, Roanoke, the Rev.

William Harsin officiating. Burial will be in Secor Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. He was born Feb.

23, 1930, in Panola, a son of Leonard and Grace Wilte Hasty. Survivors include his mother, Eureka; two brothers, Leonard, Millington, and Earl, El Paso; and one sister, Margaret Mosbach, Eureka. One brother preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army. He worked as a machinist for 17 years with McBride and Schoff, Metamora.

He also worked with Litwiller Home Builders. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Bloomington-Normal Roy P. Biddle The memorial service of Roy P. Biddle, 87, of Westminster Village, 2025 E.

Lincoln Apt. 2226, Bloomington, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington. The Rev. Philip D.

Queen will officiate. There will be no visitation. Mr. Biddle, a retired executive of The Biddle Company, died 11:42 a.m. Monday (Nov.

2, 1987) at his home. He donated his body to science, with Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, in charge of arrangements. He was born Oct. 8, 1900, in Maroa, a son of William and Etta Potter Biddle. He married Ruth Park on Aug.

12, 1935, in Decatur. She died March 1, 1985. Survivors include one brother, R. William, Long Beach, one sister, Myrna Lavine, Dallas, Texas; and one stepson, Michael Powers, Westminster, Calif. One brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Biddle was affiliated with a retail appliance company in Decatur and with advertising and sales in Standard Oil Company of Indiana's Decatur office. In May 1943, he joined The Biddle Company, two years after it was founded by his brother, Everett D. Biddle. He served the firm, once one of the largest advertising agencies in Illinois, in several capacities, including secretary-treasurer, vice president, senior vice president, vice chairman of the board, senior partner, treasurer emeritus and first senior vice president.

Mr. Biddle was interested in amateur theater, performed in many productions and served as president of Community Players. He once starred as Elwood P. Dowd in a Community Players production of "Harvey." He had been a secretary of the Bloomington-Normal district board of directors of Junior Achievement of Central Illinois chairman of the public information committee CORRECTION GREAT EXPECTATIONS coupon which ran in yesterday's Pantagraph should expire Nov. 11, 1987.

A.T. Buchholz A.T. Buchholz, 79, of 1301 N. Lee Bloomington, a retired biscuit company distributor, died at 6 a.m. yesterday (Nov.

4, 1987) at the home of his daughter, Shirley Ann Engdahl, Normal, where he had lived during a short illness. His graveside funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, the Rev. David P. Dees officiating.
