Hilda Flessner CHATSWORTH Hilda Flessner, 89. formerly of Chatsworth, died at 8 last night (Aug. 26, 1988) at Greenbrier Lodge, Piper City, where she had lived for two years. She was taken to Culkin-Diggle Funeral Home, Chatsworth. Minnie Clrks MINONK Minnie Clrks, 80, of Minonk died at 10:30 a.m.

yesterday (Aug. 26, 1988) at Saint James Hospital, Pontiac, where she had been a patient for four days. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Minonk, the Rev.

Jerry Tupper officiating. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Folkers-Froellch Memorial Home, Minonk. She was born May 14, 1908, west of Minonk, a daughter of Dick and Ida Janssen Cirks.

Surviving are a brother, Dick, Minonk; and a sister, Anna Sullivan, Minonk. A brother preceded her In death. Miss Cirks was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and the Women's Fellowship. She taught Sunday school for more than 30 years and was a volunteer at the Lida Home.

RIDLEY Killian, Marsha and Tim, a boy born Friday (Aug. 26, 1988) at St. Joseph's Hospital Medical Center, Streator man nets 3 theft charges STREATOR A 34-year-old Streator faces three felony theft charges stemming from an investigation of items allegedly taken from a Peru trucking terminal. George Barlik, 34, posted $3,000 on Thursday night and was freed from the LaSalle County Jail. The date of his next court appearance was unavailable last night.

Barlik and three other employees of the company were arrested on theft charges after they allegedly took $26,500 In merchandise from Consolidated Freightways. Streator police said a search of Barlik's home resulted In the recovery of a $2,600 television tracker and three camcorders, valued together at $3,900. He is also charged with taking six handguns, valued at $1,150, from the trucking firm, police said. Barlik turned himself in Thursday, police said. The arrests stem from an investigation by the Peru Police De-partment, Consolidated Freightways security personnel, the U.S.

Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Illinois state police and the LaSalle County state's attorney's office. Washington teen wins pageant title WASHINGTON Darla Glover, 17, daughter of Glen and Erma Glover of Washington, was crowned 1988 Miss Washington Good Neighbor last night at the 1 annual Good Neighbor Pageant on the downtown square. Miss Glover sang "On My Own" from Les Miserables during the talent contest. The win auto- matically quali- Miss Glover fies her for the Miss Heart of Illinois Pageant in March. Miss Glover is a recent graduate of Washington Community High School and is a freshman at Illinois Central College, East Peoria.

She plans to be an art therapist. She was one of six young women competing for the title. McLean Co. woman reports sex attack A rural McLean County woman in her 20s was raped by a man she knew in his apartment about 8 p.m. Thursday, Bloomington police said yesterday.

The victim was treated at and released from Normal's Brokaw Hospital, police said. She told police she was in the apartment when the man refused to let her leave and then forced himself on her. EDUCATION College textbook An Illinois State University professor will write a college textbook on physical activity for the mentally handicapped. Carl Eichstaedt, of ISU's health, physical education, recreation and dance department, will write the book with Barry Lavay of California State University, Long Beach. The book, "Physical Activity for the Mentally Handicapped: Birth Through Adult," will be published by Human Kinetics Inc.

yesterday (Aug, 26, 1988) at the Marjorle Fulton Skilled Care Unit, Fairbury Hospital, where she had been a resident since 1981. Her funeral will be at 10.30 a.m. Monday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa, with the Rev. Gretchen Steinbaugh officiating. Burial will be In Chenoa Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. She was born June 2, 1900, in Chenoa, a daughter of J. Frank and Laura Neifing Jontry. Survivors include one sister, Lydia Sandham, Pontiac. Miss Jontry lived in the Chenoa area her entire life.

She was a General Telephone Co. employee for more than 40 years, retiring In 1965. Memorials may be made to the Marjorie Fulton Skilled Care Unit at Fairbury Hospital. Clay W. Hinman BROADWELL Clay W.

Hinman, 72, of Gibson City, formerly of Broadwell, died Thursday (Aug. 25, 1988) at Veterans Administration Hospital, Danville. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holland Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln, Lloyd Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Hinman was born March 7, 1916, at Elkhart, a son of Rollie L. and Annie K.

Koons Hinman. Surviving is one brother, Dale, Broadwell. He was preceded In death by one brother. Mr. Hinman was a graduate of Elkhart Community High School.

He was former partner at a dry cleaning firm in Gibson City and formerly was employed by M. and W. Gear City. He served with the Army Air Corps in World War II in the European, African and Middle Eastern theaters. Mr.

Hinman was a member of -the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Gibson City. He was a member of Broadwell Christian Church, to which memorials may be made. Viola D. Allison GIBSON CITY Viola D. Allison, 85, a five-year resident of Clark-Lindsey Village, Urbana, formerly of Gibson City, died at 12:30 p.m.

Thursday (Aug. 25, 1988) at Burnham Hospital, Champaign. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mittendorf-Calvert-Morgan Funeral Home, Champaign, with the Rev. Steven Shoemaker officiating.

Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. She was born July 8. 1903, in Roberts, a daughter of Oscar and Mary Steinman Dueringer.

She married Carl W. Allison on Sept. 17, 1949, in Champaign. He died March 31, 1950. Mrs.

Allison graduated from Roberts High School in 1921. She received a bachelor's degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1925 and a master's degree from the University of Illinois in 1943. She taught school in Trenton, Rochelle, Polo, Urbana and Gibson City. She retired in 1963. She was a member of Church Women United, McKinley Foundation Presbyterian Church, Delta Kappa Gamma educational sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, Ford County Farm Bureau and the local, state and national Retired Teachers associations.

Memorials may be made to Church Women United or McKinley Foundation Presbyterian Church, Champaign. Dean L. McClure DANVERS Dean L. McClure, 78, rural Danvers, died at 4 p.m. yesterday (Aug.

26, 1988) at his home. He was taken to Otto-Argo Funeral Home, Danvers. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Morton Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall, church ministers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

at the Ludwig-Rohrschneider Funeral Home, Morton, and an hour before the service Monday at the fellowship hall. He was born Aug. 29, 1896, in Adelshoten, West Germany, a son of Johann and Elizabeth Koegel Dietrich Roecker. He married Mary Waibel on Oct. 14, 1922, in Pontiac.

She died in August 1976. Surviving are a daughter, Geraldine Wuthrich, Morton; a brother, Otto Roecker, Peoria; two grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Seven brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Roecker had been in the United States since 1914 and was a U.S.

citizen. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. from 1925 to 1950 as a precision tool maker. He became the co-owner of Roecker Cabinet Morton, after his retirement. He was a member of the Morton Apostolic Christian Church and past member of the Morton Optimist Club and the Kennel Lake Sportsman Club.

Memorials may be made to the Peoria Apostolic Christian Home. Flossie F. Massock FARMER CITY Flossie F. Massock, 96, of Farmer City died at 7:12 a.m. yesterday (Aug.

28, 1988) at Jackson Heights Nursing Home, Farmer City. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, the Rev. Timothy C. Carlson officiating.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. She was born June 21, 1892, in Sullivan, a daughter of Norton E. and Vada Greenwood Kirkwood.

She married William Paul Massock on Jan. 26, 1919, in New Orleans, La. He died March 16, 1957. Surviving are a son, William St. Petersburg, a daughter, Helen Weatherwax, Vernon Hills; seven grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren.

A sister and a brother preceded her in death. Mrs. Massock was a member of the United Methodist Church, Farmer City. A dozen businesses were broken into overnight Thursday at the Eastwood Building at 2310 E. Oakland Bloomington, the latest in a series of office break-ins this year on Bloomington's east side.

In most of the businesses, the intruder found little to steal after going through desks and file cabinets. At Credit Discount Audit, a collection agency, a bank bag with a little over $100 was stolen, and at Head Quarters, $64 was stolen, Bloomington police reports said. The food items will be given to the St. Vincent DePaul Society's food pantry at Holy Trinity Church for distribution to veterans and the general public. Story hour Registration for Bloomington Public Library's pre-school story hour will be from Sept. 6 through 10 in the children's room of the library.
