8 8 1 Pantagraph A-7 Bloomington-Normal, Ill. Oct. 28, 1977 Central Illinois Deaths Esta Williams COLFAX-Esta E. Williams, 57, Coldwater, and formerly of Colfax, died Thursday morning in Memorial Hospital, Springfield. He had been injured in an automobile accident Aug.

8, four miles south of Mount Vernon on Interstate 57. His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Baggery-Dutcher Funeral Home, Coldwater, Mich. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Coldwater. Visitation will be Sunday evening at the funeral home.

He was born Sept. 13, 1920, in Colfax, a son of Charles and Rebecca Wagoner Williams. He married Gertrude Marie Utter May 12, 1943, at Wayne, Mich. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs.

Ethelyn Covey, Ligonier, Mrs. Janean Penrod, Coldwater, and Mrs. Sherry Leavitt, Prescott, four sons, Charles, Bronson, Donald, San Antonio, Texas; Richard, U.S. Navy, Lexington Park, and Jerry, Coldwater; 15 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Mrs. Lily Bequeaith PEKIN (PNS) Lily E. Bequeaith, 81, of 1108 Summer died at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday in Pekin Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health several years.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Green Valley, the Rev. Donald Maul officiating. Burial will be in Sand Prairie Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9. p.m. today at the Kueck-Woolsey Funeral Home, and from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church. She was born March 29, 1896, in Sand Prairie Township, a daughter of Phillip and Barbara Bruder Friedrich.

She married Lewis C. Beaqueaith March 21, 1917, in Sand Prairie Township. He died Jan. 29 20, 1974. Surviving are a son, Henry rural Pekin; a brother, Henry G.

Friedrich, rural Green Valley; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Baker, Green Valley, and Mrs. Kate Ripper, Pekin; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Green Valley, and memorials may be made to the church.

Big winner PEKIN-Miss Loretta Graber, 58, of rural Peoria, a mail sorter in the Pekin Post Office, won $400,000 in Thursday's Illinois Lottery drawing. Miss Graber could not immediately comment on her luck. First she won $200,000 and then doubled it by matching the color of her qualifying ticket to the color (red) that was drawn. She became the first person to double a major prize since the colormatching series began in 1975, according to lottery officials. Mrs.

Bertie Plank EMDEN (PNS)-Mrs. Bertie L. Plank, 67, died at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital i in 1 Springfield, where she had been a patient since Saturday. Her funeral will be at 1:30 0 p.m.

Saturday at the Emden Christian Church, with the Rev. Terry Carmichael officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Hallmann Funeral Home in Delavan and one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born in Salem, May 10, 1910, a daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Edgar Watkins. She married Champ Plank Feb. 5, 1930, in Salem, Mo. He survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs.

Louise Thompson, Sheldon; one son, Wayne, Delavan; three brothers, Eldred, Delavan; Vernon, Emden, and Frank, St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Edna Bolden, Anderson, two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. She was a member of the Emden Christian Church, the women's council of the church, and the Abraham Lincoln Hospital Auxiliary.

Memorials may be made to the Emden Christian Church. Mrs. Esther Huppert SIBLEY (PNS)-Mrs. Esther F. Huppert, 72, of Plainfield and a Sibley native, died at 1:50 a.m.

Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Joliet. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Overman Chapel, Plainfield, with burial in Plainfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Saturday at the chapel. She was born April 1, 1905, in Sibley, a daughter of Gerhardt and Sadie Rath DeFries. She married Albert Huppert Jan. 16, 1926, at Bloomington. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Orland, Plainfield, and Doran, Aurora; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Anne Gudenrath and Mrs. Edna Arends, both of Melvin; two brothers, Lloyd DeFries, Cropsey, and Raymond DeFries, Melvin; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Plainfield United Methodist Church. She was a resident of Plainfield for 35 years. She owned and operated a drapery business.

Memorials may be made to Plainfield United Methodist Church. Rose granted continuance JACKSONVILLE -Former state Rep. Thomas C. Rose's forgery trial will start Dec. 9 in Morgan County Circuit Court following the granting of a continuance to the defense.

The trial was set. to start Monday but Circuit Court Judge George P. Coutrakon Wednesday moved it back to give defense attorney Robert Brunsman time to study a handwriting analysis report. Mrs. Clara Brees PEKIN )-Mrs.

Clara I. Brees, 81, of 203 Catherine died at 2:05 p.m. Thursday at the Hallmark House, Pekin. She had been a resident since Sept, 23 and had been in ill health seven years. Her funeral will be at 3 p.m.

Saturday at Kuecks-Woolsey Funeral Home, the Rev. James K. White officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m.

She married William H. Brees Nov. 21, 1914, at Pekin. He died March 17, 1963. Surviving are a son, William H.

Brees, Pekin; three daughters, Mrs. Virgie Walker, Pekin; Mrs. Virginia Flint, Wilmington, Ohio, and Mrs. Clara Lutz, Pittsburg, a brother, John Albitz, Frankfort, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A son, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

She was member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Pekin AmVets Auxiliary and the Minnesota Covered Bridge Society. Mrs. Elsie Kingdon EL PASO (PNS)-The funeral for Mrs. Elsie E. Kingdon, 82, who died Wednesday, will be at 2 p.m.

Saturday at Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso, the Rev. Joseph Martin officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the memorial home.

She was born April 13, 1895, at Meadows, a daughter of Courtland and Elizabeth Cotter Mates. She married Ralph Kingdon Feb. 16, 1915, in Eureka. He survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs.

Reta Heiken, Northwood, Iowa; and four grandchildren. A brother, three sisters and two sons preceded her in death. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, El Paso. Mrs. Cora Phillips COLFAX-Mrs.

Cora Phillips, 82 of 402 S. Grove died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday at Mercy Hospital, Urbana: Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Colfax Home for Funerals, the Rev. Raymond E.

Bassett officiating. Burial will be in the Wiley Cemetery, Colfax. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs.

Phillips was born Sept. 8, 1895, in Lawndale Township, a daughter of Samuel and Mary Ann Wilson Moore. She married Otis Ford Phillips at Bloomington on Jan. 30, 1923. He died Feb.

12, 1973. She is survived by one brother, Dewey D. Moore, Lexington; a sister, Mrs. Clara Manahan, Cocksville, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

There will be no visitation. Miss Trobaugh was born at Clinton Oct. 11, 1927, a daughter of Walter S. and C. Lavena Campbell Trobaugh.

Surviving are her mother, Washington; a sister, Mrs. Alice Griffin, Washington; a brother, Robert, Davenport, Iowa. Her father preceded her in death. She was a member of the Calvary Mennonite Church in Washington and was a secretary for many years at Washington Realty Co. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Mrs. Pflederer MORTON (PNS) -Mrs. Lydia Pflederer, 96, of 117 Chicago died at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday at her home. Her funeral will be at 9:30 a.m.

Saturday at Perry Memorial Home and at 10 a.m. at the Morton Apostolic Christian Church. Church ministers will officiate. Burial will be in the Morton Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m.

Kathryn Swearingen, Mrs. Alice Hirstein, Mrs. Wittmer and Mrs. Eloise Cary, and a son, Sam Pflederer, all of Morton; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Pflederer and Miss Salome Rapp, both of Morton; a brother, Andrew Rapp, Tucson, nine grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

Seven brothers, four sisters and two sons preceded her in death. Mrs. Pflederer was a member of Morton Apostolic Christian Church. Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Home for the Handicapped, Morton, or the Central Illinois Memorial Kidney Fund. Lazzaro Gianessi PEKIN (PNS) -Lazzaro Giantessi, 84, of 1521 State died at 12:55 p.m.

Thursday in Pekin Memorial Hospital. He was a patient three days. His funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic: Church, with burial in Glendale Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Abts Mortuary, with a wake service at 8 p.m. He was born Sept. 2, 1893, at Athens, Greece, a son of Dominic and Josephine Boncuci Gianessi. He married Rosina Leonelli July 17, 1914, at Cherry.

She survives. Also surviving are a son, Bruno, Pekin: three daughters, Mrs. Eva Dolly Rivord, Mrs. Norma Kline, Mrs. Helen May, all of Pekin; a brother, Orfeo, Pekin; three sisters, Mrs.

Antonetti Casetti, Mrs. Pauline Lami and Mrs. Angeline Ozella, all of Pekin; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Two sisters preceded him in death. He operated Gianessi's Fine Foods in Pekin before he retired.

He was a member of the Pekin Elks, Pekin Moose and the Pekin Eagles. Joseph Freehill CHA.TSWORTH (PNS) Joseph P. Freehill, 72, of 320 W. Locust died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at Mercy Hospital, Urbana, after an illness of three weeks.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Rev. Charles Karl officiating. will be in St.

Rose Cemetery, Strawin. Burial Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Culkin Memorial Home, with the Rosary recited at 8 p.m. He was born Sept. 12, 1905, at Melvin, son of Peter and Margaret Costello Freehill.

He attended St. Bede's High Set 100l, Peru, and Loyola University, Chic: ago. He was a meatcutter in Chatsw worth and Sibley and owned and operat ed a grocery store in Piper City, retiring in 1973. He 'was a member of St. Pete and Paul Catholic Church.

Mrs. Whitehurst WASHINGTON-Mrs. Ruth E. Whitehurst, 79, formerly (of 1874 Linsley, died at 8:50 a.m. Thursday in Proctor Hospital, Peoria.

She had been a patient since Tuesday and was a resident of Fondulac Nursing Manor, East Peoria, for two years. Her funeral will be at 10) a.m. Saturday at White Funeral Home, the Rev. Richard McQuinn officiating. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Davenport, Iowa.
