A graveside memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy, the Rev. Tom Maloney officiating. There is no visitation. She was cremated.

Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born Nov. 17, 1936, in LeRoy, a daughter of Mildred Gulley. She married Donald Denney Sept. 15, 1953, in Bloomington.

He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Tonja Morris, and Gwyn Morgan, both of LeRoy; a son, James Wesley Denney, LeRoy; and four grandchildren. Her mother preceded her in death. Mrs. Denney worked at General Electric Bloomington, for 15 years and was a member of Machinists Lodge No.

She was born Sept 16, 1899, at Graz, Austria, a daughter of Joseph and Anna Techt Winkler. She married Eddie Henry April 21, 1932, at St Louis. He died Feb. 19, 1976. Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Kammler, with whom she made her home; Karen Lab-itzke Stenger, Shrewsbury, and Elizabeth Anne Macheska, St.

Louis; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Mrs. Henry was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling, visiting her native Austria three times after the age of 80. She moved to Bloomington in 1989.

Mrs. Henry was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Bloomington, and former member of Immaculate Conception Church, Maplewood, Mo. Memorials may be made to BroMenn Daycare, BroMenn Life-Care Center or her church. Hazel E. Malinowski Hazel E.

Malinowski, 70, of 904 Ninth Hilltop Mobile Homes, Bloomington, died at 10:05 p.m. Friday (Aug. 28, 1992) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Beck Memorial Home, with burial in East Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. She was born April 3, 1922, in Randolph, a daughter of Malinowski Carl and Agnes Cummins Malinowski. Surviving are a brother, Merlin "Merle" Malinowski, 1307 N. Western Bloomington; three sisters, Helen Smith, 704 Oakland Bloomington; Bernadine Marksteiner, 1226 Jersey Normal; and Donna Raydon, Sam Rayburn, Texas.

Two brothers preceded her in death. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eagles. Miss Malinowski belonged to the Bakery and Confectionery Workers local and worked at Nestle-Beich Co. for more than 40 years, retiring in 1987. Memorials may be made to the McLean County chapter of the American Cancer Society.

'fate vjPJ LINCOLN Mary Rose, 89, of Lincoln died at 5:02 p.m. Friday (Aug. 28, 1992) at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, the Rev.

Tom Gerdts officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before the service at the funeral home. She was born Sept 22, 1902, in Albion, a daughter of John H. and Connie Bunting Smith.

She married Clinton V. "Shorty" Rose April 19, 1925, in Lincoln. He died Nov. 20, 1985. Surviving are a son, William Rose, Lincoln; and two sisters, Ida M.

Smith, Albion, and Frances Yeates, Lincoln. Mrs. Rose was a retired baker from Hauffe's Ey's Bakery and was a foster grandparent at Lincoln Developmental Center. She was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church, Abraham Lincoln Shrine of Jerusalem and Lincoln Chapter 351 Order of the Eastern Star, where she was worthy high priestess in 1971. Memorials may be made to the White Shrine Material Objective Fund.

Craig Schneider Chad Schneider STREATOR Craig Schneider, 44, and his son, Chad, 17, R.R. 3, Streator, died yesterday (Aug. 29, 1992) after apparently being overcome by fumes at their hog farm. A story is on page Al. Mr.

Schneider was dead on arrival at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator, and his son died at 10:25 a.m., shortly after arrival at the hospital. They were taken to Solon Funeral Home, Streator. Richard E.

Shields DANVERS Richard E. Shields, 53, of 108 E. Columbia Danvers, died at 12:03 a.m. yesterday (Aug. 29, 1992) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, following a two-year illness.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Kib-ler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, the Rev. Paul Middleworth officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Richard Shields Bloomington. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the memorial home. He was born Oct. 24, 1938, in Normal, a son of Alfred R. and Laura Carver Shields.

He married Susan Brown Sept 5, 1959, in Bloomington. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Lori Shields, Danvers; Cathy Crabtree, 127 Del Vista Drive, Bloomington; and Connie Shields, 1700 N. School Normal; two brothers, Alfred Shields Brighton, and Thomas Shields, 1411 S. East Bloomington; a sister, Carolyn McGowan, 1214 Jersey Normal; and five granddaughters.

His parents and two brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Shields was a candy maker at Nestle-Beich Co. for 35 years and was a member of the Bakery, Confectionery and Tobacco Workers Local 342 and the Moose Lodge. Memorials may be made to the family.

Bloomington-Normal Wendell Driskell Wendell G. "Wimp" Driskell, 58, of Blandinsville, father of a Bloomington woman, died at 6:45 p.m. Friday (Aug. 28, 1992) at his residence. The McDonough County coroner's office is investigating.

Foul play is not suspected. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home, Blandinsville, the Rev. Bob Swickard officiating. Burial will be in Glade City Cemetery, Blandinsville.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today, with family visitation from 6 to 7:30 tonight Among his survivors is a daughter, Pamela Hall, Bloomington. Mr. Hall was a farmer and lived in the Blandinsville area, west of Macomb, all of his life. Memorials may be made to the Elks Crippled Children Fund.

GRADUATES Mitchell Rink, son of Anita Rink, 2912 Kingsbury Court, Bloomington, has completed requirements for a bachelor of science degree in finance from Milllkln University, Decatur. CLINTON Danny J. Manning, 44, of Clinton died at 7:58 a.m. yesterday (Aug. 29, 1992) at Dr.

John Warner Hospital, where he had been a patient DeWitt County Coroner Betty Henson said death was from natural causes. He was taken to Herington-Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Robert H. Moberly DeLAND Robert H. Moberly 74, of DeLand, a civic leader, died at 2:50 a.m.

yesterday (Aug. 29, 1992) at Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at DeLand United Methodist Church, the Rev. Al Heim officiating.

Burial will be in De-Land Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Trigg Calvert De-Land Chapel with Masonic rites at 8 p.m. He was born Jan. 10, 1918, at DeLand, a son of Arthur H.

and Jewell Pitts Moberly. He married Thelma M. Lux Sept 12, 1942, at Bement. She died July 23, 1992. Survivors include three sons, Robert H.

Moberly Moweaqua; Richard A. Moberly, Scottsdale, and Mark A. Moberly, LeRoy; a sister, Helen C. Calhoun, Baltimore; and four grandchildren. Mr.

Moberly was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a farmer and retired bookkeeper for Jones Implement International Harvester dealer, Bement. He was also an assistant rural mail carrier. He was the supervisor of ushers at the University of Illinois Assembly Hall and was interim manager of DeLand Co-op Grain Elevator. Mr.

Moberly, a graduate of De-Land High School, was an umpire for amateur and Little League baseball for many years. He was a member of the DeLand American Legion, DeLand Masonic Lodge and Bloomington Consistory. He was master of the lodge in 1965 and its secretary for the last 21 years. His board memberships included DeLand-Weldon schools; DeLand Elevator; DeLand United Methodist Church; Goose Creek Township; DeLand Celebration; Piatt County Zoning; DeLand State Bank; and Central Finance Group Inc. He was also active in the Boy Scouts.

Memorials may be made to DeLand United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. Mildred Presswood CLINTON Mildred R. Press-wood, 67, of Clinton died at 12:20 p.m. yesterday (Aug. 29, 1992) at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday al Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, the Revs. Tom Miller and Mark Wright officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Beason. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.

Monday at the funeral home. She was born April 9, 1925, in Beason, a daughter of Claude F. and Cora L. Lovan Lowery. She married Ruben Jewel Presswood Aug.

17, 1946, in Lincoln. He survives. Other survivors include her mother, Cora Lowery, Clinton; a son, Robert Jewel Presswood, Mount Pulaski; a sister, Mary Bradshaw, Clinton; and two grandchildren. Her father preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to Clinton Southern Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.

Clinton Carl Quaka STREATOR Clinton Carl Quaka, 17, of R.R. 6, Streator, died at 10:36 a.m. yesterday (Aug. 29, 1992) at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator, after apparently being overcome by fumes on a farm.

A story is on page Al. His funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St Anthony's Church, the Rev. Donald Henderson officiating. Burial will be in St Anthony's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Solon Funeral Home, with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. He was born Jan. 28, 1975, in Streator, a son of Teddy and Theresa Vogel Quaka. They survive.

Also surviving are two brothers, Christopher and Cody, at home; maternal grandmother, Antoinette Vogel, Toluca; paternal grandparents, George and Betty Quaka, Streator; and paternal great-grandmother, Barbara Quaka, Streator. A maternal grandfather preceded him in death. He had been employed at the Schneider family farm since October 1991. He was a member of St Anthony's Church, Streator High School wrestling club and Streator High School Band. He was a 1989 graduate of Ransom Grade School and was a senior at Streator Township High School.

Metamora man charged in escape METAMORA A 21-year-old Metamora man has been charged with aiding or concealing a fugitive in connection with the escape of a murder defendant to Texas. Eric Pemble was charged with Craig and Jacqueline Young, both of South Pekin.

Police say the trio helped David Wade Adams, 23, Lacon, escape through the disguise of a wig and fake mustache. Adams was found in Texas last month after a manhunt that lasted a couple of weeks. He is accused of killing Michael Nelson, 48, at a Chillicothe mobile home court in June. Nelson was the boyfriend of Adams' ex-wife. Adams also was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping and unlawful use of a firearm.

He remains in Peoria County Jail in lieu of posting more than $100,000. Abbott Scholarship winners announced The Scottish Rite Masons in the Valley of Bloomington have announced the awarding of 16 $1,000 scholarships. Abbott Scholarships are given to deserving students in recognition of scholastic and citizenship achievements and are presented to children of Scottish Rite Masonic families. Funding for the growing scholarship program comes from the Supreme Council Education and Charity Fund established through the legacy of former Sovereign Grand Commander Leon M. Abbott and annual contributions by the fraternity's 400,000 members.

Nwafor was initially stopped by state police on a speeding charge. Police said he had the front half of a vehicle chassis in the back of his pickup truck and the chassis was missing a vehicle identification number. The number was found elsewhere in the truck, police said, and a check of the number revealed the chassis had been stolen in Texas. State police said after Nwafor's arrest he revealed information about a car theft ring that operates in Texas.

Rev. Adolph Lechner FLANAGAN The Rev. Adolph J. Lechner, 94, of East Jordan, formerly of Flanagan, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday (Aug.

28, 1992) at his daughter's home in East Jordan. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Flanagan, the Revs. Dennis Scoville and Ronald Krueger officiating.

Burial will be in St. Petri Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Froelich Memorial Home, Flanagan, and an hour before the service Tuesday at the church. He was born March 12, 1898, at Fessenden, N.D., a son of Christian and Rosalie Koenke Lechner.

He married Elva May Fedeler June 9, 1925, in Sumner, Iowa. She died Oct. 26, 1989. Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Ludolph Lechner, Guttenburg, Iowa, and the Rev.

Paul Lechner, Schertz, Texas; four daughters, Lois Meier, Sumner, Iowa; Dr. Ruth Von Behren, Alameda, Eunice Reinhardt, Flanagan; and Naomi Vonesh, East Jordan; 17 grandchildren; and 18 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren. He was a member of the St. Petri Lutheran Church.

He graduated from Capital Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio, in 1925, and was ordained at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Seattle, the same year. Rev. Lechner served in several parishes in Hedrick, Dubuque, Palmer and Sumner, Iowa. He later served at St. John's Lutheran Church in Toluca from 1949 to 1966 and St Paul's Lutheran Church in Tonica from 1966 to 1976.

He moved to Flanagan in 1977 and served as part-time chaplain at Good Samaritan Home until 1982. He also helped at the St Petri Lutheran Church for several years until his retirement in 1987. Memorials may be made to St Petri Lutheran Church, the Good Samaritan Home or a charity of the donor's choice. Jim Wallace, 23, of 301 E.

Jefferson Bloomington, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop. He was returned to McLean County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond and is to appear in court again Tuesday.
