She married Charles B. Castle in 1920 in Bloomington. He died in 1972. She also married Richard Glenn Lown Dec. 28, 1950, in Bloomington.

He died April 28, 1983. Surviving are one son, Alan D. Castle, Royal Oaks, one daughter, Mavis McReynolds, 515 S. Clayton St, Bloomington; nine grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs.

Lown was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington, and Illinois State University Alumni Association. She was an active volunteer, working with the Red Cross Blood Bank and all three Twin City hospitals. She also was a precinct committee chairwoman and an election judge. Mrs. Lown was a graduate of Illinois State Normal University.

She taught as substitute teacher in Bloomington schools. She later worked at State Farm Insurance Cos. and was a cashier at Bias! Drug Store. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Diabetes Association or American Red Cross. Dorothy J.

Ridgeway Dorothy J. Ridgeway, 62, of El Paso, formerly of Bloomington, died at 2:14 a.m. yesterday (Jan. 14, 1992) at St Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, where she had been a patient for four days. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m.

Saturday at Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington, the Rev. Darrell Bagwell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the memorial home.

Mrs. Ridgeway was born March 7, 1930, in Bloomington, the daughter of George and Mae Coyle Se-gobiano. She married Glenn R. Ridgeway April 9, 1947, in Bloomington. He survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Butch, Bloomington; David, El Paso; and Hoagy, Hudson; five daughters, Teresa Betts, Connie Carey, Laura Crabtree, Dorothy Reich and Glenda Boitnott, all of El Paso; her mother, Bloomington; two sisters, Iris Fry, Joliet and Sylvia Bowen, state of Iowa; three half brothers, Paul Segobiano, Carl Segobiano and Leonard Segobiano, all of Bloomington; three half sisters, Bernida Anderson, Plainfield, and Mae Ortman and Marie Plue, both of Bloomington; and 14 grandchildren. Mason St, Bloomington, a home-maker, died at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 13, 1993) at BroMenn Regional Med Central Illinois Christina Bonk MINONK Christina "Tena" Bonk, 93, Beulah Land Christian Home, Flanagan, a Minonk native, died at 4:15 a.m. yesterday (Jan. 14, 1993) at St.

Mary's Hospital, Streator. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Froelich Memorial Home, Flanagan, the Rev. Brad Brauit and the Rev. Becky Brault officiating.

Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the memorial home. Mrs. Bonk was born April 4, 1899, in Minonk, a daughter of John and Etta Ewen Feken. She married William H.

Bonk Dec. 15, 1920, In Minonk. He died Feb. 25, 1974. Survivors include three sisters, Lorene Weppler and Elsie Feken, both of Minonk, and Edna Crusius, El Paso.

Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. 1 Mrs. Bonk was a member of Flanagan United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to her church or Beulah Land Christian Home. Pauline Irvin KENNEY Pauline Irvin, 76, of Kenney, died at 7:45 p.m.

Wednesday (Jan. 13, 1993) at St Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Herington-Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney.

1 Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Irvin was born July 11, 1916, In Macon County, a daughter of John Rooney and Fannie LoRena Tucker. She married Dale Irvin Oct 5, 1937, in Clinton.

He died June 26, 1984. Survivors include four daughters, Darlene Maiden, Farmer City; Patsy Zurkammer, Beason; Debbie O'Connor, Newberg, and Barbie Scott, Wapella; nine grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother. Mrs. Irvin was a member of the Kenney Christian Church, Kenney Rebekah Lodge and Kenney Firemen's Ladies Auxiliary.

Memorials may be made to the Pauline Irvin Memorial Fund. John R. Kociss GARDNER John R. Kociss, 60, of Gardner, a plant manager, died at 8:58 a.m. yesterday (Jan.

14, 1993) at Morris Hospital, Morris. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gardner Funeral Home, Gardner, the Rev. Robert Bartlett officiating. Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, Braceville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Kociss was born Oct 23, 1932, at Gardner, a son of John William and Gladys McGurk Kociss.

He married Marilyn Hansen July 3, 1953, at Morris. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Kevin and Kurt, both of Gardner; and Kerry, Dwight; two daughters, Kim Von Qualen, Gardner, and Kelly Kociss, Willow-brook; three brothers, James, Kenny and Gary, all of Gardner; three sisters, Winona Phillips, Crest Hill; and Peggy Kociss and Lynda Christensen, both of Gardner; and four grandchildren. Sunday at the Hudson Chapel. Mr. Young died at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 13, 1993) at St Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

He was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Normal, a son of Verne and Louri Hand Young. He married Joan Ploense June 6, 1945, In San Francisco. She died Sept 28, 1990. Surviving are his mother, Beulah Land Christian Home, Flanagan; two sons, Steve W.

and Carl, both of Bloomington; five daughters, Sharon Ward, Towanda; Carol Ogg, Bloomington; Patricia Christianer, Normal; Diane James, Cooksville; and Doris Emling, Heyworth; three brothers, Paul, Bloomington; Chuck, Santa Rosa, and Clyde, Pittsburg, four sisters, Virginia DiPasca, Homasassa, Kathryn Mayfleld, Clinton; Evelyn Rudisill, Normal; and Vyra Strap-hagen, Phoenix, 15 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, one daughter and two brothers. Mr. Young was a member of numerous American Legion posts, including those in Towanda, Bloomington and Gibson City. He held offices in local, state and national American Legion organizations.

He was a member of Voiture No. 24, 40 et 8 Club, where he was a past commander; and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts in Bloomington, Gibson City and Colfax. Mr. Young drove the 40 et 8 engine for the VFW in many parades and also played Santa Claus for many Legion Christmas parties. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving at Pearl Harbor, Normandy and in the South Pacific.

After World War II, he joined the U.S. Naval Reserves, and later was a member of the Illinois National Guard. Mr. Young was a former fire chief and constable in Towanda. He was a former member of Towanda Village Board and Pennell Cemetery board.

He farmed for many years in rural Towanda, retiring in 1988. Memorials may be made to the 40 et 8 Wives and Daughters Nurse's Training Fund. Parents offered classes to deal with adolescents Parents of adolescents can learn more effective ways of dealing with the changes in their children's lives by attending a four-part series offered by the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension Service. Wednesday (Jan. 13, 1993) at St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Howard Norfleet He was born April 21, 1913, at Norfleet a son of Lony and Bailie Prather Norfleet He married Lucille Miller Jan. 28, 1938, at Bowling Green, Mo.

She survives. Other survivors include one son, James Grand Forks, N.D.; two daughters, Judith I. Oltman, 319 Fairway Drive, Bloomington, and Nina Jeree Stein, 810 Four Seasons Road, Bloomington; one brother, Ernon Norfleet and two sisters, Nina Trimble and Leva Flynn, all of rural Nancy, six grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. A sister and three brothers preceded him in death. He was a self-employed farmer in McLean County for more than 35 years.

Rodman, 1914 Croxton Bloomington; one brother, George Roeder, Orangevale, two sisters, Mae Wyckoff, Sun City West and Anna Blair, State-line, three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. One brother and one sister preceded her in death. Mrs. Rodman was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington.

At one time, she had been employed as a clerk at the former A. Livingston Son Department Store in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to the church. EDUCATION Returns from Kenya Laura Treadway, daughter of Carolyn and Roy Treadway of Normal, has returned from a three-month study program in Kenya, Africa. Miss Treadway is a junior at Earlham College in Richmond, Ind.

She studied the contrasts between Western and non-Western cultures, environmental, food and population issues. Students were housed in homes, dormitories and camped outside..
