Paid for by BNGSA BLOOMINGTON-NORMAL GIRLS SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION EIGHTEEN YEARS OF GROWTH AND SERVICE ball against teams from around the state, and in some instances from around the country. This year our 18 Under team competed against national teams from New Zealand, Canada and Italy. Our travel teams are organized through competitive tryouts and play extensive schedules leading to the State ASA Tournaments in July. The BNGSA functions through its volunteer Board of Directors, Coaches, Sponsors, and Parents. The Board of Directors meets monthly to plan for future needs and to insure the current program is operating as planned.

Revenues needed to run the program is derived through registration fees, annual fund raisers, The Bloomington-Normal Girls Softball Association has enjoyed another banner year. Through the help of our sponsors, coaches, and parents we have been able to offer the fast pitch softball experience to almost 900 girls and young women who played on our 57 teams. Instruction and competition are combined under four age groups in our in-town program. Each level of our in-town program is geared, through special rules, to be appropriate for the respective levels of player development. This year the BNGSA sponsored 6 travel teams in 4 Amateur Softball Association age levels.

These teams play a highly competitive level of soft- and sponsor support. We believe the time and money spent in this program is a great investment in the young ladies who participate today and will be among our leaders of tomorrow. I would like to extend my personal thanks to our many sponsors, coaches, parents, and volunteers who make this program possible. I would also like to give a special thanks, on behalf of the Board of Directors, to Bloomington Parks and Recreation, Normal Parks and Recreation, District 87 and Unit 5, without whose cooperation our program would not be possible.
