The Rev. Lloyd Wages will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton.

Visitation will be for two hours before the service. He died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday (May 5, 2001) at a friend's residence in Decatur. Memorials may be made to the Jonathon Akers Memorial Fund. He was born on Oct.

16, 1972, at Springfield, a son of Charles H. and Mabel E. Warren Akers. He married Janette Mansell on May 10, 1996, at Clinton. She survives.

Other survivors include his mother of Clinton; his father of Springfield; a daughter, Tiffany Nicole Akers, at home; and two sisters, Virginia Roberson, Rogers, and Carol Ann Schultz, Clearlake, Calif. Virginia Black PONTIAC Virginia Oleson Black, 71, of Pontiac, died at 8:06 p.m. Sunday (May 6, 2001) at OSF St. James Hospital, Pontiac. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.

Saturday at Duffy Funeral Home, Pontiac, with the Rev. Dan Harry officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Pontiac. Visitation will be from 10 the time of services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Pontiac Public Library or to an organization of the donor's choice.

She was born Sept. 22, 1929, at Chicago, a daughter of Rudolph A. and Ellen Louise Davis Oleson. She married Stewart M. Black on June 28, 1952.

He died June 2, 1994. Survivors include three daughters, Lori Allen, Pontiac; Margaret Lilly, Rock Hill, and Elizabeth Black, Brookfield; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Black attended James Madison in Chicago; graduated from Hirsch High School in 1 Chicago, and from Jr.

College Chicago. Edward I F. Boyd COLFAX- Edward F. Boyd, 92, of Colfax, formerly of Lexington, died at 4:20 p.m. Friday (May 4, 2001) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Colfax.

An inurnment service will be at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery, Kentwood, Mich. There will be no visitation. Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Mr.

Boyd was born March 26, 1909, in Grand Rapids, the son of Edward and Maud Campany Boyd. He married Helen Ingrahm in the 1950s at Grand Rapids. She died March 1, 1992. Survivors include one sister, Marion E. Livingston, Washington Island, Wis.

His parents and one son, Brian, preceded him in death. Josephine M. Bryant STREATOR The Mass of Christian burial for Josephine M. "Jo" Bryant, 76, formerly of Streator, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church, Streator.

The Rev. Deo Gratias Mutefunya and the Rev. Carl LoPresti will officiate, and Chaplain Steve Estes will give the readings at the Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Streator.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. She died at 8:16 a.m. Saturday (May 5, 2001) at Meadows Mennonite Home, rural Chenoa. Memorials may be made to Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, R.R.

1, Box 310, Cheroa, IL 61726. She was born Dec. 8 1924, at Streator, a daughter of Mike and Jennie Giacinto Canale. She married Robert P. Bryant on June 25, 1947, at Streator.

He died Dec. 11, 1992. Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth (Mark) di Giacinto Shannon, Chenoa; and Peggy (Jonn) Larson, Normal; three sons, Michael (Kathy) Bryant, Streator; Timothy Bryant, Washburn; and Robert (Lydia) Bryant, Elgin; 12 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Patrick and Kevin Bryant; a daughter, Mary Kay Bryant; and a brother, Phillip Canale. Catherine Conring CHENOA Catherine Conring, 88, of Chenoa, formerly of Lincoln, died at 12:40 a.m.

Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Meadows Mennonite Retirement Home, Chenoa. She was born Feb. 28, 1913, at Lincoln, a daughter of Cleveland and Lulu Edmonds Newberry. She married John Conring on July 2, 1932, at Lincoln.

He died Feb. 28, 1971. Survivors include a daughter, Christina (Lonnie) Bernstein, Bloomington; and two sisters-inlaw, Margaret Newberry, Lincoln; and Maureen Newberry, Moberly, Mo. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Terri Lynn Peek, and Susan Bernstein, both of Bloomington; David (Julie) Bernstein, Finlay; Elizabeth (Andrew) Nish, Cleveland, Brad (Suzette) Bernstein, Kenilworth; and Jill Lewis, Lincoln Park in Chicago; 13 greatgrandchildren; and one greatgreat grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister in infancy; and five brothers, Jim, Ed, Ralph, Don and Paul.

Mrs. Conring worked at Illiopolis Munitions Plant during World War II driving a semi loading and unloading explosives. She also worked at Stetson China Factory and was retired from Lincoln Developmental Center, Lincoln, after 37 years of employment. She was the last of her immediate family. She was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church and was a charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary 2708 in Lincoln.

Catherine enjoyed many friends, traveling and dancing. She will be missed by her family who loved her very much. Teresa Hodges EL PASO Teresa Marie Hodges, 98, of El Paso, formerly of Hudson, died at 1:20 a.m. Sunday (May 6, 2001) at the El Paso Health Care Center, El Paso. A graveside funeral will be at 11 a.m.

Wednesday in Hudson Cemetery, Hudson, with the Rev. Anet Satvedi officiating. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. She was born Oct. 30, 1902, at Crawfordsville, a daughter of Isaac and Ida Turner Dickerson.

She married Chris Hodges in 1920 at Crawfordsville, Ind. He died May 9, 1957. Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette (Cas) Zajac, Fort Collins, and Shirley Wilson, Opelike, and a son Daniel (Darlene) Hodges, Fairbury. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Candace (Loren) McDugle, Chenoa; Danny Hodges, Hudson; Dolores (Tom) Williams, Stockbridge, Lance (Tina) Wilson, Greebriar, and Nadine (Dean) Telgemeier, St. Charles, and three great-grandchildren, Lisbeth Hodges, Danelle Williams and Krystin Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, two sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Hodges was a homemaker and was member the Hudson United Methodist Church for over Me 30 years. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. Ina E.

Nelson WAYNESVILLE Ina E. Nelson, 81, of Waynesville, died at 8:56 p.m. Sunday (May 6, 2001) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Services will be 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday, at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Dan Sherstad officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wapella. Visitation will be from 1 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

She was born March 31, 1920, at Waynesville, a daughter of Lester and Eunice Goodrich Wampler. She married Gerald Nelson on Oct. 15, 1940, at St. Louis, Mo. He survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Jeanette Forman, Hudson; and Shirley Langhoff and Rita Heiberg, both of Bloomington; a son, Jerry D. Nelson, Decatur; a sister, Helen Mayfield, Clinton; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great -grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers and a grandson. Vivian J. O'Herron STREATOR Vivian J.

O'Her- ron, 81, of Streator, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday (May 6, 2001) at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Streator, with the Rev.

Deo Gratias Mutefunya officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Streator. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Elias Funeral Home, Streator, with a rosary held at 6:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. She was born July 1, 1920, at Pontiac, a daughter of Luke C. and Josephine Sodey Hoover. She married Richard A. O'Herron in 1941.

He survives. Other survivors include a son, Richard J. (Joanna) O'Herron, Perrinton, a sister-in-law, Elsie (Nicholas Sr.) Sereg, Streator; four grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Hoover of Pontiac. Virginia F.

Ording LINCOLN Virginia F. Ording, 83, of Christian Village Nursing Home, Lincoln, died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday (May 5, 2001) at the home. Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

Tom Gerdts will officiate. There will be no visitation. Holland Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Ording was born Aug.

16, 1917, in Wisconsin. She married Merle Ording in Green Bay, Wis. He died March 27, 1976. Five grandchildren survive, including Andrea Bartlett of Normal. She was preceded in death by two sons, Paul Ording and Harold Ording; and a brother, Glenn Schlingerman.

Agnes Otto STREATOR Agnes Otto, 88, of Decatur, formerly of Streator, died at 10:34 p.m. Saturday (May 5, 2001) at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Her funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Elias Funeral Home, Streator. The Rev.

Jeffrey Kelley will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. She was born Jan. 10, 1913, at Streator, a daughter of Harry and Katherine Benner Dudley. She married Ralph P. Otto on May 5, 1930, at Streator.

He died July 12, 1992. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elizabeth Smith; a brother, Henry Dudley. Jerold Reis CHENOA- A Celebration of Life memorial service for Jerold Michael "Jerry" Reis, 56, of Lone Wolf, formerly of Chenoa, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chenoa United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Vaughn Hoffman and Ralph Woolard will officiate. Friends may visit with the family in the church parlor for an hour before the service. He was cremated. Burial of ashes will take place at Chenoa Cemetery.

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa, is in charge of arrangements. He died Feb. 5, 2001, at his home in Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Mennonite College of Nursing Scholarship Fund. Mr.

Reis was born Dec. 1, 1944, in Santa Monica, a son of Hugo Robert and Evelyn Miller Reis. He was married to Joyce Good from 1971 to 1984. Survivors include his mother, Evelyn M. Reis, rural Chenoa; three daughters, Shawn (Kevin) Nobles and Megan Reis, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Heather (Jerel) Tomasello, Gainesville, two sons, Paul Reis, Hilliard, Ohio, and Jeremy (Jennica) Reis, Columbus, Ohio; and one brother, Thomas L.

(Mari Ann) Reis, Indianapolis, Ind. His father preceded him in death. He came to Chenoa with his parents at an early age. He joined the Army and studied at Fitzsimmons Hospital in Colorado before being sent to Vietnam, serving at a base hospital in Vung Tau. Upon returning from Vietnam, he was sent to Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, where he became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), earning the rank of captain.

He followed that profession later in Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and California, before going Elkview Hospital in Hobart, where he had worked for about 10 years before his death. Jerold was a member of the Raymond Simmons TREMONT The funeral of Raymond Lee Simmons, 31, of 213 E. Walnut Tremont, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Davis Mortuary, Tremont. The Rev.

Bill Cordes will officiate. Burial will be i in Mount Hope Cemetery, Tremont. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. He died at 6:45 a.m.

Sunday (May 6, 2001) at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria. Memorials Raymond may be made to Tremont ResSimmons cue Squad. Mr. Simmons was born Dec. 1, 1969, in Peoria, a son of Richard E.

and Connie Soto Simmons. Survivors include his parents of Tremont; and his paternal grandmother, Irene L. Simmons, Morton. His maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather preceded him in death. He was employed as a systems analyst at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He graduated from Tremont High School and obtained an associate's in computer science from Illinois Central College in East Peoria. Gretchen Womacks CULLOM Gretchen E. "Gertrude" Womacks, 89, of Bourbonnais, formerly of Cullom and Blue Island, died at 5:20 a.m. Monday (May 7, 2001) at Provena Our Lady of Victory Home, Bourbonnais. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m.

Thursday at Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Cullom, Father Thomas Holloway officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Cullom. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

She was born Oct. 20, 1911, at Cullom, a daughter of Clifford and Emma Koerner Puckett. She married Martin Scheibling on Dec. 7, 1935. He died Feb.

2, 1950. She later married Robert E. Womacks on Oct. 3, 1957. He died Oct.

25, 1978. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Scheibling, Bourbonnais; and Sonja Davis, Maceo, one brother, Duane Puckett, one sister, Ruth Massa, Mansfield, Ohio; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The grandchildren are Kelly (Dave) Peck; John (Debbie) Davis; and Jeff (Michelle) Scheibling. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marie Colclasure and Idelle Propper; and three brothers, James, Russell and Richard Puckett. A homemaker, Mrs.

Womacks was educated in Cullom schools and was a 1930 graduate of Cullom High School. She was baptized at St. John's Catholic Church, Cullom. Orville Zimmerman CARLOCK Orville A. Zimmerman, 89, of rural Carlock, died at 3:18 am.

Monday (May 7, 2001) a at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Congerville Apostolic Christian Church, with church ministers officiating. Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Argo-RuestmanHarris Funeral Home, Eureka; and at the church from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to Congerville Apostolic Church Building Fund or to the Congerville Ambulance. He was born Jan.

29, 1912, at Bern, a son to Ben and Lula Aeschleman Zimmerman. He married Lulu Wettstein on Feb. 8, 1948, at Eureka. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter Annette (Steve) Weiss, Bloomington; six sons, Fred (Maryellen), Tom (Janet), Ben (Kathy), and Chuck (Ginny) Zimmerman, all of Eureka; Tim (Barbara) Zimmerman, Madison, and Andy (Leann) Zimmerman, Carlock; a sister, Alma (Frank) Wackerle, Goodfield; and 21 grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, an infant daughter, an infant brother and two sisters. Orville farmed in the Carlock area for most of his life. He then worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation for about 10 years before he retired. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in World War II for 35 months in the European Theater.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 466 in Eureka. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Congerville. Bloomington-Normal Peter J. Fese NORMAL Peter J. Fese, 76, of Lafayette, formerly of Normal, died at 9:24 p.m.

Wednesday (May 2, 2001) at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, after a illness. He was born July 24, 1924, at Normal, a son of Anthony and poni Fese. He Fese married Velda J. Uselton on Jan. 20, 1971, at Danville.

She died Dec. 4, 1996. Survivors include four daughters, Karla (Alan) Cain, Clarks Hill, Gloria (Chuck) Lawson, West Lafayette, Nikki (Jerry) Faletic, Wahiawa, Hawaii; and Vicki (Stan) Lorenc, Palm Coast, two sons, Tony Fese, Indianapolis; and David (Stacie) North, Gallup, N.M.; four sisters, Mary Kay Campbell and Janet (Dewayne) Davis, both of Riverview, Vivian Fesi, Bloomington; and Anita Fesi, Plant City, and a brother, Joe (Norma) Fese, Lexington. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and a sister, Gertrude V. Penn BLOOMINGTON The funeral of Gertrude V.

Penn, 86, of 902 E. Locust Bloomington, will be 10:30 a.m. today at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, and at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Church, both in Bloomington. The Rev.

Marius Fernando will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bloomington. She died at 10:41 a.m. April 30, 2001, at Heritage Manor in Normal.

Memorials may be made to Cent tr al Catholic High School Building Fund; or to the Corn Belt Chapter Alzheimer's Association. She was born Sept. 27, 1914, at Bloomington, a daughter of Leo and jtalewicz Bunkolski. Ralph O. Penn on Sept.

Peoria. He died June 14, Survivors include ters, Kay (Robert) Lawn; and Sharon (J.R.) Schwoerer, Carlock; one son, Jack Penn, Lake Bloomington; one sister, Florence Gaede, Murray, five grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Mrs. Penn attended Bloomington High School and was a receptionist in the offices at the Sloan Clinic in Bloomington for Dr.

Herman Wellmerling and Dr. Wilbur G. Ball for many years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church. Jerold Reis Jerold Reis Howard J.

Rosensteel BLOOMINGTON The funeral of Howard J. Rosensteel, 86, of 207 Orleans Drive, Bloomington, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, and at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Church, both in Blooming. ton, with the Rev.

David Heinz officiating. Burial will be in Funks Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. He died at 12:15 a.m.

Sunday (May 6, 2001) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Memorials may be made the Kidney Foundation to Howard Rosensteel or to Central Catholic High School Building Fund. Mr. Rosensteel was born Aug.

14, 1914, at Bloomington, a son of Harry and Cathryn Ochs Rosensteel. He married Eloise M. Moberly on Aug. 3, 1936, at Bloomington. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Gene) Masteller, Wells, Maine; and Therese Quinn, Jacksonville, five sons, William F. (Lola) Rosensteel, San Clemente, James E. (Joyce) Rosensteel, Prospect Heights; Michael T. Rosensteel and Stephen H. Rosensteel, both of Jacksonville, and Timothy J.

(Carole) Rosensteel, Tampa, 14 grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Terry Rosensteel; and a brother, Harold E. Rosensteel. Mr. Rosensteel was a 1931 graduate of Trinity High School and was a graduate of Illinois State Normal University with a degree in education.

He taught at Hardin High School in Hardin. He became an agent for State Farm Insurance Company in 1941. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy serving in World War II in the South Pacific. He then was an agency manager for State Farm in Miami for many years and later was a State Farm agent in Lake Worth, for many years.

He retired and returned to Bloomington in 1982. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church; Knights of Columbus Council 574, Bloomington; American Legion; and Bloomington Country Club. He also was a past Boy Scout Leader. Howard was recognized by State Farm for his many record setting sales numbers and his leadership in the company. He had served on committees for an addition to Trinity High School and for the building of Epiphany Church and School, and St.

Clare School. He was an avid golfer and card player. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
