Henry F. Nutt The funeral of Henry F. "Hank" Nutt, 80, of 304 S. Prairie Bloomington, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thurs Sunday (Sept.

10, 2000) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center, 407 E. Vernon Normal, IL 61761. He was born Sept.

6, 1920, in El Paso.asonofRufusB. and Dora E. Hefler Nutt. He married Mable I. Arbuckle on Jan.

31, 1940, in St. Louis, Mo. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Judith (Stefan) Sollner, Bloomington; and Betty J. Nutt, Salinas, one son, Gary Nutt, Bloomington; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy M.

Nutt, Bloomington; and two sisters, Ruth Riggs and Sadie Corbin, both of Normal. Also surviving are four grand- daughters, Kim (David) Brackney, Amy (Lance) Dorrell, Stefanie. (Jeremiah) Griffin and Carrie (Tony) Griffin; and seven great-grandchil- dren, Victoria Griffin, Noah Dor- rell; Zachary, Mason, and Regan Brackney; and Christopher and Jessica Griffin. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Robert F. Nutt; one brother; and four sisters.

Mr. Nutt was a farmer and had worked on area farms in McLean County. He was a former semitrailer truck driver. He also delivered mail to rural area post offices until he retired in 1984. He enjoyed fish- ing and camping.

He was a loving father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family. will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. today at the Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy. Memorials may be made to the BroMenn Hospice Program or a charity of the donor's choice.

She was born Dec. 27, 1927, at Ar-rowsmith, a daughter of Ray and Gertrude Benningfield Rafferty. She is survived by two brothers, Wesley (Marge) Rafferty, LeRoy; and Robert (JoAnn) Rafferty, Bloomington; and four sisters, Ora Mae (Ernie) Sigler, Bloomington; Shirley (Bob) Rice, LeRoy; Lorraine (Mick) Beal, Hudson; and Grace (Loren) Bean of LeRoy. Other survivors include 20 nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Helen Rafferty.

One nephew also preceded her in death. Miss Rafferty was a member of the LeRoy Christian Church. She was a member of the Hobby Club for many years. Miss Rafferty was loved by all. Bloomington-Normal Pamela Sperlin Bacon Pamela Sue Sperlin Bacon, 54, of 408 Grant Normal, died of breast cancer at 12:20 a.m.

Tuesday (Sept. 12, 2000) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Second Presbyterian day at Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington. The Rev.

Ernest Gerike will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Towanda. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at the memorial home. Mr.

Nutt died at 10:27 a.m. Henry Nutt I Heart Walk set for Sept. 30 Central Illinois Elmer W. Bauman CONGER VILLE The funeral of Elmer W. Bauman, 79, of rural Congerville, will be at 10 a.m.

Thursday at Goodfield Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will be in Congerville-Goodfield Apostolic Christian Cemetery, rural Congerville. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Good-field Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall and from 9 to 9:45 a.m.

Thursday before the service at the church. Otto-Argo Funeral Home, Eureka, is in charge of arrangements. He died at 2:47 p.m. Monday (Sept. 11, 2000) at Eureka Apostolic Christian Home, Eureka.

Memorials may be made to Eureka Apostolic Christian Home or Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped. He was born April 30, 1921, in Loda, the son of Jacob and Ida Ul-rich Bauman. He married Mildred Moser on Jan. 23, 1943, in Danvers. She survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Kay (Eugene) Sieben-thal, Wyoming; Karen Harminson, Congerville; and Elna (Gary) Wettstein, Eureka; four sons, Les (Helen) Bauman, Eureka; Glen (Becky) Bauman and Jake (Chris) Bauman, both of Congerville; and Dave (Shirley) Bauman, Roland, 39 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. One son, Gary; two brothers; and one sister preceded him in death. Mr. Bauman was a farmer in the Congerville area. He was a member of Goodfield Apostolic Christian Church.

William J. Coffey CLINTON William J.Coffey, 83, of Clinton, died at 6:50 p.m. Monday (Sept. 11, 2000) at U.S. Veterans Medical Center, Danville.

There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Friday at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Memorials may be made to AMVETSPost 14.

Mr. Coffey was born Jan. 8, 1917, at Atlanta, a son of Omer Howard and Maude Golden Coffey. He married Rheuphilla Davis on Dec. 21, 1972, at Warsaw.

She died Dec. 14, 1996. Betty E. Conway PONTIAC Betty E. Conway, 66, of St.

Joseph, formerly of the Pontiac and Flanagan areas, died Monday (Sept. 11, 2000) at a St. Joseph residence. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Duffy Funeral Home, Pontiac.

Burial will be in South-side Cemetery, Pontiac. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Cordova, the daughter of Lloyd and Irene Salters Eady.

She married Richard "Kelly" Conway in 1974. He preceded her in death. Survivors include four daughters, Glenda Sechler, St. Joseph; Tricia Hurt, Bethesda, Ohio; Sheila Roberts, Hammond, and Victoria Yard, Braidwood; two sons, Norman Welker and Bruce Welker, both of Hammond, her stepdaughter, Jenny Scarborough, Kansas City, three sisters, Shirley Esparza, Las Vegas, and Imogene Castro and Mary Ellen Eady, both of Chicago; five brothers, Gerald Eady, Las Vegas; Harold Eady, Oakmond, Carroll Gene Eady, Lofton, Howard Eady, Lake of the Hills; and Kenneth Eady, Waco, Texas; 28 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. Her parents; her infant son, Ricky Welker; two brothers, Fer-rell Eady and Terrel Eady; two sisters, June Carson and Bobbie Spencer; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren preceded her in death.

Mrs. Conway worked in food service for many years, including working as a manager at Penny's Place, a restaurant and lounge in Pontiac, for 14 years. She was a resident of St. Joseph for more than four years. She resided in the Pontiac and Flanagan areas for most of her life.

She was a member of Elks and Moose lodges in Pontiac and golfed and bowled in tournaments in Pontiac. Merve J. Flanary STREATOR Merve J. Flanary, 70, of 1824 S. Carr Streator, died at 1 p.m.

Monday (Sept. 11, 2000) at St. John's Medical Center, Springfield. A private family burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Military rites will be accorded graveside by the American Legion Leslie G.

8, 1907, at Towanda, a daughter of James and Katherine Kelly Grimes. She married Raymond E. Larkin on Sept. 14, 1935, at Bloomington. He died June 1, 1980.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Gerhart, Albuquerque, N.M.; Karen McGinn, Plymouth, Joan Gummere, Bloomington; and Patricia Kinsella, Merna; one son, Stephen Larkin, Towanda; one brother, Bernard Gromes, Bloomington; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, -two brothers and a son-in-law. Mrs. Larkin attended St. Joseph Academy in Bloomington and St.

Clare Academy in Wisconsin. She received her teaching degree from Illinois State Normal University and taught in the rural McLean County Schools of Union and Ballard. She was a member, of St. Patrick of Merna Church. Robert F.

Lewin Sr. CULLOM The funeral of Robert F. "Bud" Lewin 80, of Cullom, formerly of rural Kempton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cullom United Methodist Church, Cullom. The Rev.

Deb Talbott will officiate. Burial will be in Mona Township Cemetery, rural Kempton, with graveside military rites. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Cullom. He died at 3 p.m.

Monday (Sept. 11, 2000) at OSF Saint James Hospital, Pontiac. Memorials may be made to Cullom United Methodist Church or the Cullom Fire Department Ambulance. Mr. Lewin was born Feb.

15, 1920, in Kankakee, the son of Fenton and Pearl Miller Lewin. He married Priscilla "Pat" Hardy on Dec. 15, 1945, in New London, Conn. She died Oct. 30, 1994.

Survivors include three daughters, Patty (Gary) Ferrero, South Bend, Cindy (Robert) Magee, Denver, and Lori (Norman) Kunkle, Pontiac; three sons, Robert Lewin Denver, Al (Donna) Lewin, Auburn; and Larry Lewin, Plainfield; and one sister, Opal O'Connor, Kankakee. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Brian and Lisa Ferrero; Rob and Mike Magee; Kim and Alyssa Lewin; Josh Kunkle; and Gabrielle and Sydney Lewin. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. Lewin farmed for many years in the Kempton area and had worked as a maintenance mechanic at Bradley Roper and then at A.O.

Smith, Kankakee. He was a member of Cullom United Methodist Church; and Skinner-Trost American Legion Post 122, Cullom. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater as an infantryman and then military policeman. He was educated in Kempton schools and was a 1937 graduate of Cullom High School.

Velma O. Rafferty LeROY Velma O. Rafferty, 72, of LeRoy died at 9:25 a.m. Monday (Sept. 11, 2000) at her residence.

Her graveside service will be at 2:15 p.m. today at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Bloomington. The Rev. Vernon L. feim.

14, 1929, at Pikesville, a son of Bert and Cora Ratliff Flanary. He married Carolyn Kozak on Dec. 24, 1964, at Streator. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Jason Flanary, Streator; and Barry Flanary, Normal; and two brothers, Bert (Imogene) Flanary; and Sterling Flanary, both of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jeanette Sero-ka and Mary Canale; and one brother, Carl Flanary. Evelyn Glenn MINIER Evelyn Glenn, 74, of 1 Milliard Court, Minier, died at 4:15 p.m. Monday (Sept. 11, 2000) at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m.

Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Minier, the Rev. Frank Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Stanford. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Funeral Home, Minier.

Memorials Evelyn Glenn may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 101 E. Garfield, Minier, IL 61759; or to Midwest Kidney Centers, 3300 N. Main East Peoria, IL 61611. She was born Jan. 14, 1926, at Flanagan, a daughter of Fred and Gertrude Durree Weichman.

She married Darrel Glenn on Oct. 7, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomington. He survives. Survivors include two sons, Brad (Ronda) Glenn and David' (Trena) Glenn, both of Stanford; a sister, Delores Weichman Block, Minonk; and a Bernard (Ida Belle) Weichman, Flanagan. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Steven Ehren and Laura Beth Glenn, both of Stanford, son and daughter of David and Trena Glenn.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Glenn was born Evelyn Esther Weichman at Flanagan, Nebraska Township, Livingston County, in the country home on the family farm of her parents Fred and Gertrude Durree Weichman. Evelyn was an active church member and was confirmed at Windtown Lutheran Church in Flanagan. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington and helped establish Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in 1980, located in Minier where she continued her membership.

She was a Sunday school teacher, organist and a member of the Lutherans Women's Missionary League. Prior to her marriage she worked as a stenographer at Eureka Williams from 1947 to 1949 and McLean County Farm Bureau from 1949 to 1951, through which she and Darrel met. She was a housewife until she and her husband retired from farming in 1990. Harry J. Holler Jr.

EUREKA Harry J. Holler 82, of Maple Lawn Health Center, Eureka, died at 7 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 12, 2000) at the health center. His burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria.

There will be no funeral service or visita-tion. Otto-Argo Funeral Home, Eureka, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. He was born June 11, 1918, in Peoria, the son of Harry J. and Florence Swiger Holler.

He married Mary Burton on Nov. 2, 1944, in Peoria. She died in 1993. Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Shuford, Eureka; two sons, Philip Holler, Morton, and Harry "Pete" Holler, Green River, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Two sisters, one grandson and one granddaughter preceded him in death.

American Heart Walk is a national American Heart Association event conducted annually to raise funds to fight heart disease and stroke with research, programs and educa-! tion. Some of the money raised goes to the national office and some remains in McLean County. The honorary chairman of this year's McLean County walk is Dr. Ruel Wright, a cardiovascular surgeon.

The goal for this year's McLean County walk is to raise $100,000. The walk is presented by the American Heart Association and OSF St. Joseph Medical Center and sponsored by BroMenn Healthcare, The Eureka Co. and Wal-Mart. child welfare agency in Normal.

A native of Covington, White is a 1982 graduate of Illinois State University. He spent the past four years as vice president for resource development for Lincoln Christian College and Seminary in Lincoln, and is the former executive director of a group home for abused and neglected children in Danville. White supervises two full-time professional staff members and several part-time clerical staff. He credits his predecessor, Gigi Miles, with building a good foundation for the department. White and his family reside in Normal.

The Baby Fold is a charitable not-for-profit agency serving the needs of children and families. Founded in 1902, the agency provides services to over 1,300 children and families annually in Central Illinois. Heartland to cut ribbon on Raab Road campus Heartland Community College will have a grand-opening ceremony for the public from 3 to 7 p.m. today on the quad of the new campus at 1500 W. Raab Road, Normal.

The $38 million, 160-acre campus opened with the first day of classes on Aug. 17. Among the scheduled speakers are: former Gov. Jim Edgar; Hazel Loucks, deputy governor for education; state Sen. John Maitland, R-Bloomington; and Mayors Judy Markowitz of Bloomington and Kent Karraker of Normal.

She married Jerry L. Bacon in 1969. Survivors include a daughter, Tara Bacon, Normal; and two sisters, Karen Sperlin, 123 Eastview Drive, Normal; and Linda (Mel) Wollenschlager, 1303 Mark Lane, Normal. Also surviving are nieces, Sally Straub and Molly (Mike) Thomas, both of Normal; a nephew, Steven (Laurel) Straub, Bloomington; and cousins, Steve Sanders and Sally Corby, both of Champaign. Her parents and a sister, Marcia Straub, preceded her in death.

Pamela graduated from Bloomington High School in 1964. She worked at Country Companies and ISU and graduated with honors from Illinois State University majoring in Spanish and music. She was an accomplished pianist, having been educated at an early age at Illinois Wesleyan University. She played for weddings and dances with The Dynamics and also volunteered at church services at Western Avenue Community Center, nursing homes and Blair House. She was a thoughtful person who will be greatly missed by her friends, family and neighbors.

Dennis Carroll Jr. The funeral of Dennis Paul Carroll 25, of 223 The Meadows, Bloomington, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. The Rev. Gre gory Nelson will officiate.

Entombment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Bloomington. Visitation will be for two hours before the service Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Carroll was dead at 10:10 a.m. Sun Dennis Carroll Jr.
