'Bill was a supervisor of the carpenter shop at the Northern Regional Research Center in Peoria from 1962 to 1990, where he designed and constructed research equipment and apparatus not available from manufacturers, often specializing in specific cases and protective housings for intricate, delicate and unusual assemblies of laboratory instruments and equipment. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria and was a member of Holy Family Players Group in the 1960s. Bill was an active member of several Peoria-area dart ball leagues, and a member of the McLean County Nuggeteers Metal Detecting Club.

Also surviving are three children, John (Lisa) Bohannon, Michelle Johnson and Sandra (Thomas) Cook, all of Lincoln; two stepsons, Michael Pippin, Normal, and Scott (Siormy) Pippin, Bloomington; brothers, Randy (Gail) Bohannon, Tacoma, David (Barb) Bohannon, Ottawa; and Tim (Joellen) Bohannon, Inver Grove, sister, Bren-da (Todd) Southward, Basalt, nine grandchildren; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Jeff (Jan) Curry, Jerry Curry and Sue (David) Witt, all of Bloomington; and nine nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death. He was of the Lutheran faith. He served in the U.S. Army.

Jim was an academic adviser at Heartland Community College, retiring February 2008. Jim loved to crack a joke and always rooted for the underdog. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and loved walking his dog, Hoss, in the park. The family would like to thank Dr. Koszyk and his staff for the time and attention they gave Jim during his illness.

Emil J. "Bud" Moos Jr. was born July 14, 1922, in Lincoln, the son of Emil Sr. and Marie Ananias Moos. Surviving him are one son, James Moos, Huntington Beach, two brothers, William Moos, Lincoln, and Thomas Moos, Springfield; one sister, Mary Ann Schonauer, Lincoln; four grandchildren, Damian, John, Jordan and Jacob; five greatgrandchildren, Ethan, Averi, Charlotte, Delilah and Devin; and 17 nieces and nephews.

Mr. Moos was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nellie Mae Koester and Norma Shan-le. Mr. Moos served his country in the U.S. Navy, enlisting in 1942.

He served aboard the battleship USS New York in the Atlantic and the destroyer USS Sigourney in the South Pacific. Bud coached Pony League ball from 1955 to 1970. He was a mail carrier in Lincoln for 33 Vi years, retiring in 1982. He was also employed at the Kerrigan Funeral Home and Peasley Funeral Home from 1985 until 2005. He was a member of American Legion Post 263, Holy Family Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 1250, Knights of Columbus 3rd degree, past Grand Knight 4th degree and past Faithful Navigator.

When her late husband, entertainer Bob Hope, reached his 100th birthday, he was too frail to enjoy it. Although Dolores Hope was brought to Wednesday night's party in a wheelchair, she was alert and happy as she greeted old friends and posed for photographs. At 100, Dolores Hope is little changed. Her white hair is richly coifed, her skin is smooth and her voice is deep and warm.

Her 10 decades were represented by 10 kiosks set up around the long patio of the Hope estate in TolucaLake. She was born Dolores DeFina in New York's Harlem on May 27, 1909, and grew up in the Bronx. "We were poor but we didn't know it," she said. As Dolores Reade, she sang in New York nightclubs. George Murphy, Hope's co-star in the musical "Roberta," advised him to see a pretty singer at the Vogue Club.
